The Yankee offense is putrid. I expected that though. Cashman brought in too many 'past their prime' guys.

Like said a few weeks ago, I did not like the Youkilis signing. Besides being a RS, he looked done in Boston. I know he looked decent with the WS but he's overall done.
Now poor David Adams is hardly playing because of some old veteran is making 12 million. So they have to play him....

I can't believe they gave Ichiro a 2 year deal. Don't understand that with all the outfield prospects.

The Yankees will never, ever commit to going young, so all those prospects are moot. The only way a really young player gets into the lineup is a bad injury, like Cano when Womack got hurt.

If they're going to continue with this budget thing, they have to commit to some youth.

I'm not even talking about a team full of prospects. Just start to sprnkle in some youth at couple of positions.

The lanscape of baseball is changing. They to have start being patient with prospects.

It's really weird. They don't seem to mind bringing young pitcthers up and giving them a try but are impatient with hitters.

I'd sure love to add another Cano into the lineup.

Also look at Headley's road split, .295 BA on road, splitting hairs? I think he is a good contact, power hitter providing excellent defense at 3B. Pretty much what this team needs imo.

I'd love to see Headley in pinstripes.

A move out of Petco could help him but I still think what the Yankees is a perennial .300 hitter that doesn't strike out much. That's what Cano is supposed to be but he's falling in love with the long ball more and more very year.

Not many of them around.

So you're telling me it doesn't get any better? I have to disagree. The best hitter on the Yankees by average is currently hitting .284. Even the Astros and Marlins have better averages in their lineup than that. Their inability to get base hits continues to be a problem with the Yankees year after year. It was a problem even with Jeter hitting .310 most years. Now without Jeter it's just getting ridiculous. On 4 seperate occasions a single wins the game for the Yankees today and they don't get it.

17 shutout innings from Oakland today after the first inning, the Yanks pitchers deserve better. 4-7 hitters went 0-28 with 12 k's. Really is a shame that they have gotten solid starting pitching this year, have a great pen, and the lineup is an absolute mess.

With guys like Hafner, Wells, Overbay, Youk (who just outright sucks); The Yanks wont go anywhere - no matter how good the pitching is. I am driving down to Anaheim in a few hours for Saturdays game. Yanks always play horrible in the Big A. Hopefully, my 15 jersey will bring some luck.

I don't think it's the end of the world that Youkilis' back went again. This David Adams guy can play a little bit when he gets proper time, and he seems to get alot of his hits with RISP. I like him. It's not about having great numbers, sometimes you need guys who just get hits when they need them. Adams seems to do that.

At this point I'd much rather see Adams in the lineup than a healthy Youk. Youk is done. Wells is completely shot too. He had 7 hits in his last 72 at bats going into tonights game. It was fun while it lasted. Ichiro is playing like 2012 Mariners version. After he came over mid way last season Ichiro had a good stint with Yanks. Looked rejuvenated, best he's looked at the plate in 2-3 years. Little surprised how bad Hafner's looked lately. Healthy Hafner is still a reasonably productive player but he's looked quite bad lately. 4 home runs since April 27, a span of 113 at bats. Oh how I miss Raul Ibanez.

We could see Pineda back soon. He's made 1 rehab start in minors and apparently impressed.

Wells is a black hole at this point in the lineup, was annoyed tonight he let Ichiro hit for Neal who had a single and walk tonight in his first game, Ichiro is terrible. Wells and Ichiro are replacement level players at this point.

I'm not sure I blame Cashman for either move, Ichiro seems like it was definitely an ownership move to try and sell 3000 hit merch, really don't think Cash would have taken Wells either.

I hope we get to see Pineda in a few weeks, he is a week into his 30 day rehab stint.

Pineda should be eased into it. I can see him coming back after the All Star break and pitching out of the pen. Would be good just to see him back.

I have no problem with that, but I would just let him start in AAA, he has options, don't really want to see him in the pen, the Yanks pen is probably the strongest part of the team.

Good news for Mets fans. Wheeler called up and making his debut on Tuesday.

take harvey out, who cares about the win, shutout, anything. meaningless. no hitter over, game over.

interest from game gone. its another game in june. its another meaningless june game, end it. take it off tv, it doesn't matter.
