Lol the yankees are a joke. And if anyone thinks this team will regroup after this year then they are in la la land. Cc is declining. Kuroda and pettite are in their 40s. Hughes and nova are inconsistent. Mo is gone after this year. Jeter and arod are near the end as is ichiro. The catching situation is a mess. Granderson is a strikeout machine. Id be surprised if they sign him to a long term deal. Just too many holes.

I think they're set up pretty well.

I've always liked David Adams and was not happy with the Youkilis (sp) signing. Thought he should have been given a shot at 3rd.

They have several outfield options in the minors in the near future. My favorite is Tyler Austin. He's not the flashiest but he's the safest bet. Got off to a slow start in AA but is coming on.
Gary Sanchez has been good too. I expect a mid-season promotion. Although, I thought he should have started the year in AA.

Most have given up on Manny Banuelos. Pretty dumb because he's only 21 and just had TJS. And, well, you just don't give up on lefty's. lol.

Pineda is on the way back. How's that trade looking now?
I'm a Phelps fan. Looks like a solid pitcher.

Another guy to watch for is Jose Ramirez. Sick change up and great fastball. Good command. Can't go wrong with that combo.

People had to think that injuries would catch up with the Yankees at some point. But they've stayed above water and set themselves up to pounce once healthy. Chill out guys, it's May 29th. **** tons of baseball left to play.

well thats the thing. it really all depends on how all these guys do in the big leagues. i hope pineda can come back strong but after that injury im still kind of wary if he will be the same pitcher. and they better pray sanchez is the real deal or else they probably would have to overpay for some catcher in the free agent market. romine, stewart, and cervelli are servicable backups at best. im not too upset they gave up montero now cause it turning out his offense is starting to flounder and he just isnt suitable to be a major league catcher. all he had going for him is his offense and right now its been atrocious. phelps is more of a long man in the bullpen. can give you maybe a good 4 or 5 innings but thats it. i see the same thing with nova and hughes. they are 5, maybe 6 inning pitchers at best. both throw way too many pitches.

Chill. We are just having a bad stretch. It sucks because I was hoping we could take at least 2 games from Mets. We'll be fine. Lots of people never gave us a chance but here we are sitting at 30-22 (after today) and 1 game behind the Sox.

I was happy with the Youk signing. Wasn't sure whether it'd be a smart idea to count on Adams right off the bat. Nothing wrong with bit of insurance. Youk is a good guy to have around, guy gets on bases at a very good rate.

Agree with Austin. Big fan of his.

Yankees are done in June with only 1 GB of division leaders and injured superstars coming back??? :shakehead:shakehead:shakehead

why do people think they are automatically going to be better once everyone gets back? they had the same team last year and got swept in the playoffs. their offense was rangers-like in that series against the tigers. a-rod is a shell of himself and granderson has an all or nothing swing. yea he hits home runs but now a days that all that he seems to be able to do. he doesn't look right when he's batting. he looks way too anxious. who knows if jeter returns to the form he was last year. texiera has been a very hot and cold player for a few years now. i don't mean to be negative but it helps when i vent. plus im just trying to be realistic. i would be very happy if they proved me wrong.

Yeah we got swept....in the ALCS where 28 teams wish they could be.

Hopefully A-Dud stays hurt and we can have Youkilis instead who has historically done well in the playoffs. I think he could be the X-factor.

Tigers have the best rotation in baseball which also happens to include the best pitcher in baseball. There are worse things that can happen to a team than getting shutdown by that rotation. This same rotation shut down A's who also had a good offense last season.

A-Rod murders lefties and always has. Cano and Granderson struggle against them. I'd be glad to add A-Rod to that lineup.

As good as Overbay has been so far Tex is massive upgrade over him despite Tex's inconsistencies.

If Yanks can be 5 or so games within the division lead by the end of July I like their chances because Jeter, Tex and A-Rod (question mark on him) should be back by then. We should also have Pineda at some point too. I'd love to see Yanks unleash him in the pen.

Waiting for a summer promotion of Sanchez to Trenton to head down there and catch a few games. Really want to see Sanchez, Austin, Heathcott.

Will be interesting to see how they juggle the catching situation between Sanchez and JR Murphy in Trenton.

Romine being with the Yankees has helped that. Murphy could be promoted to AAA. Which opens up room for Sanchez in Trenton.

Because their injured list is an *** all star team.

rangers misery goes right into yankees misery. sigh. ill be shocked if they win one game against the red sox this weekend. sabathia pitches tomorrow and he gets rocked everytime he faces the red sox.

The bats went silent against the Mets. The pitching is still solid. I'm not worried.

But to think texeira and Youk are going to save the lineup right off the bat is nuts.

Texeira takes three months to heat up.

Lately, Sabathia gets rocked every time he faces anyone

lol thats true and thats a big cause for concern. when you see him pitch now you can see he just doesnt have the stuff he use to have. his control is off and he has been throwing alot of meatballs right down the middle of the plate. who is their future ace gonna be? sabathia isnt it anymore and kuroda is in his 40s. i can only hope that one of these young guys in their system can turn out to be one.

exactly. texeira and granderson are two in the same. guys with big swings who dont hit for average at all and will strikeout a ton.

And here we go....

Major League Baseball will seek to suspend about 20 players connected to the Miami-area clinic at the heart of an ongoing performance-enhancing drug scandal, including Alex Rodriguez and Ryan Braun, possibly within the next few weeks, "Outside the Lines" has learned. If the suspensions are upheld, the performance-enhancing drug scandal would be the largest in American sports history.

Tony Bosch, right, flat-out denied any knowledge of suspected PED distribution at Biogenesis, his closed South Florida clinic, in an interview with ESPN's Pedro Gomez.Tony Bosch, founder of the now-shuttered Biogenesis of America, reached an agreement this week to cooperate with MLB's investigation, two sources told "Outside the Lines," giving MLB the ammunition officials believe they need to suspend the players.
