Fortunately the Mets have talent in the system and financial flexibility moving forward. Right now, they're godawful.

saw that coming from a mile away. of course the day he throws out a ceremonial first pitch is the day he blows the game. doesn't really matter to me anyway. their luck is starting to run out now like i knew it eventually would. age and injuries are just too much to overcome. between them and the rangers i've been waiting for football to start for quite a while now.

We're gonna give up on the Yankees after two losses? C'mon now.

Ok maybe injuries have caught up with the lineup but we're getting Teixeira and Youkilis back real soon and we still have great pitching. Plus, Mariano blew a save tonight. That doesn't happen often. We win this one 19 out of 20 times.

No doubt, there have been overachievers in the lineup. But half of the roster is still decimated. To me, this has been a very enjoyable season as a fan due to lowered expectations heading into the season.

Would love to see Yanks try Zoilo Almonte vs righties instead of Ichiro. 304 average, 390 obp in AAA vs righties.

Will help getting Tex and Youk back on Friday if all goes well in Trenton the next two nights. Granderson and Cervelli are probably late June, and Andy should be back as soon as the 15 days are up on the dl.

im not high on granderson as i use to be. the guy just strikes out waaaay too much. he just looks so uncomfortable at the plate. his swing is all or nothing and he swings at everything. when he did come back briefly this year he picked up where he left off striking out and swinging at pitches in the dirt. plus i prefer gardener in centerfield. the yankees would be making a huge mistake signing him to a deal when he becomes a free agent. he is simply not worth it.

i agree about almonte. ichiro soon will be gone and they need some corner outfielders.

Don't start the Yankees funeral yet (though I have no idea how you guys are doing so good with Reid Brignac(who?!) and Lyle Overbay getting AB's), you guys faced a very solid lefty in Jon Niese and one of the best pitchers in the league right now in Harvey.

I'd love to see the Mets nab Gardner in FA.

lol i hope not with ichiro gone and hopefully not resigning granderson they need to keep gardener at all costs. great in centerfield and is good at the leadoff spot. you guys should go after ellsbury in free agency. another great center fielder who has speed, power, and can hit leadoff.

Thing i'd be afraid of with Ellsbury is stupid GMs throwing boatloads of cash at him even though he's failed to (and probably never will) live up to his ridiculous 2011 season. I can't see Gardner making that money, even though I do expect the Yanks to be suitor #1, but if he somehow slips through them i'd be thrilled if the Mets got him, especially since he has a year of arbitration left and the Mets could FINALLY maybe have a competent roster around what should be a very good young rotation by 2015.

Yeah I don't know why everyone's so upset. Harvey is a beast and we still managed to come out on top after the starters left. Mariano just had his bi-monthly off night. That same formula is a win so many times it's not worth getting upset over. And Niese is just like Phil Hugues. He sucks in alot of his starts but can be unhittable if you catch him on a good day. We caught him on a good day.

We're 30-21. I thought Yankees fans would be happy being 30-21 with 11 guys on the DL and 2 big ones about to come back. Silly me, right?

Yankee starting pitching and bullpen are very good. The offense will come around.

Good for the Mets. They needed some good news considering Ike Davis swings a bat like Janet Napolitano.

Yep. Not playing well lately.

If Nix comes up with that easy double play in the 1st this game could look a little different.

Lol the yankees are a joke. And if anyone thinks this team will regroup after this year then they are in la la land. Cc is declining. Kuroda and pettite are in their 40s. Hughes and nova are inconsistent. Mo is gone after this year. Jeter and arod are near the end as is ichiro. The catching situation is a mess. Granderson is a strikeout machine. Id be surprised if they sign him to a long term deal. Just too many holes.
