OT: 2013 MLB Discussion Thread

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The Yankees are awesome.

They are like the anti-Rangers this year. Sign old, past their prime players, except they produce and win with them.

Wells should go to All Star game at this rate, I remember how much the pundits mocked them for trading for him. But I admit, I was calling for Cashman's head when they traded for him lol.

I wonder if Cashman will be able to get anything for Overbay when they eventually have to get rid of him? Just don't see how he keeps his spot on the team when Tex and Youk are back? There are only so many spots on the 25 man, and I'm not sure you can carry Overbay and Hafner. Hafner obviously will stay to be DH/PH.

I hope they do keep him around a little while to make sure Tex's wrist looks like it will hold up.

Don't think ARod will be back this year. Youk will play 3B and Overbay is the odd man out with Pronk as a DH and Tex as 1B. Adams gets sent down.
 
So far Overbay has shown an ability to come through in big spots, so I hope they find a way to keep him on the roster through the playoffs. Lack of clutch hitting has really burned the Yanks in the playoffs and he may be able to help in this department.
 
Grander son broke his pinky. Yea.

Yanks should keep players like Overbay no doubt. He's shown he can play and come thru. Also, this whole home run or die thing seems to be around still but not as much as last year. Hope we learn to play small ball better. No doubt with Gardner back it helps a lot too.

BTW, if anyone is near a modells or somewhere, pick me up the Camo Yankee hats if they're sellin them. Saw them on FB. I'll pay ya back haha
 
Ike's start to last season was hilariously awful.

He's managing to outdo that.
 
Parnell is an all-star reliever.

Him, Dubs, Harvey and Murph (besides that one really awful slump) have really been the only bright spots of the season.

Doesn't do you much good when he's only getting 0-2 runs of run support. Only 2 guys are hitting. Murphy and Wright are the only ones batting well. Mets have a lot of problems at pretty much every position except 2B and 3B.
