What do you think about that Heatley-Granlund-Setoguchi line? In my opinion MG and Seto don't have much chemistry... It seems to me that MG is trying to build chemistry with Seto, but he doesn't get the puck back from him. Is Seto annoyed to play with an European rookie?? Because he doesn't pass the buck to MG even if he's wide open..

Considering that I would flip Coyle and Setoguchi, so the first two lines would be:

Parise-Koivu-Setoguchi
Heatley-Granlund-Coyle

Granlund and Coyle had some chemistry in the AHL and I think they'd play well together.

Granlund definately needs someone who is making room for him, Coyle could be someone like that. At the moment he is like Bambi on ice, spending half of the time on his ass everytime someone touches him.

I would like to see Granlund on the shootout. I understand why Yeo doesn't with points as valuable as they are....but it would be good to see him atleast get a chance. Cullen does not exactly have a ton of moves.

Yeah, but Cullen is a higher % shootout player than Koivu, and is almost as high % as Parise...so it's unlikely Granlund will be substituted for such an elite shootout player. Cullen is once of the best in the league actually.

Bouchard though...not sure why he's been the 4th shooter, I could see MiG64 taking his slot.

Uh...Wild are 2-0 in the shootout? We had two shooters go yesterday? Cullen scored and won the game last shootout? Stop complaining. You'd rather lose with Granlund than win with Parise/Koivu/Cullen?

Granlund looks better, still not great, his line mates aren't great either, but it's not like there's a lot of options.

I mean at this point I'd love to not have Heatley on the ice except for power plays and put Seto on the third line with Cullen and have three Zach Parises and four Jonas Brodins but that's just not going to happen.

Granlund and Setoguchi both had really good games, but I am not sure they play well together.

Heatley, Bouchard, and Cullen just kept showing how they are past their primes and are less and less a part of the team.

I'm done with Stoner on the 2nd pairing. If we're going to put up with the mental lapses, bad defense and subpar breakouts, I'd at least rather have Scandella's offensive potential.

Take both Heatley and Bouchard off the top pp unit though. Butch was taken off last night finally, but Heater has not been his usual pp self at all.

Heater has been off the top PP unit since Coyle was inserted on to the first line. He was put back on the first PP last night when Coyle wasn't effective.

That explains why I saw him out there last night! I thought he was removed from it, and was talking to someone at the bowling alley about it, but then they pointed out the next pp and there he was!

He shouldn't have been returned to it!

I agree.

The only problem on that line is Heatley.

I'm not even a Heatley hater, but he has been dragging his lines down this year. He looks slower than he actually is, and something seems almost "off" with him.

I think Granlund is looking fine with Seto, especially this new fired up Seto we've been seeing.

I don't mind Stoner, but I agree with you. He just makes so many dumb plays...

When Spurg gets back that will hopefully help the balance of our second pairing.

Stoner should never be on the first or second pairing of any d squad.

Didn't Scandella and Gilbert have a lot of good games together near the end of the year last season? I know they were the minute munchers on the back end.

Heatley has been terrible lately. I would put him back on the 3rd line with Brodziak, who he's played really well with, but Heatley is sooo bad on the breakout that the checking line might be pinned in the Dzone for too long.

Parise - Koivu - Zucker
Coyle - Granlund - Setoguchi
Heatley - Brodziak - Clutterbuck
Mitchell - Konopka - Rupp
Bouchard

Brodin - Suter
Gilbert - Scandella
Spurgeon - Stoner
Prosser, Falk

At this point I'm in favor of ditching Falk over Prosser as Nate has done a better job in limited action than Falk has. I know Scandella is the one that likely gets sent to Houston to make room for Spurgeon, but I'd prefer to pair him with Gilbert who seemed to calm him down last year.

Coyle absolutely fits in on the first line, but Heatley doesn't fit on the 2nd. He provides a big body, with speed, that can compliment Seto and Granlund as they seem to work well together. Zucker provides the first line with another shoot first type guy. Also, just waive Matt Kassian already and put him out of his misery; poor guy.

^ forgot about cullen.

problem with heatley right now is the same with granlund in the beginning.. hes not moving his feet. Just watch him for a game and ull see, he just does his routes and never really moves his feet like he can until he has too. like breakouts.. he ain't moving his feet until he thinks that puck is coming to him, and he wont move his feet along the wall, he just tries to get the defender to skate past him when he stops from floating. Don't like his game since like the 3rd game of the season. NEED to bench his ass and call up zucker for a few games, and tell heater to start moving his feet or float ur ass to the bench.

with that said, i also want to see mikko/parise love fair split up.

Zucker/Heatley Koivu Granlund
Parise Cullen Coyle/Setoguchi
Mitchell Brodziak Bouchard
Rupp Konopka Clutterbuck

Suter Brodin
Scandella Gilbert
Stoner Prosser/Sprugy

something around that would be nice to see.
