I agree Granlund did a good job tonight. he constantly pushes himself and he expects only what he can earn.
I'm actually liking him more because of how he is dealing with adjusting to the NHL.

Hoping Yeo keeps the top 2 lines how he did in the third period last night.
Heatley was at least solid for about the first 5 games when playing with Parise and Koivu. Maybe it will get him going again.
Granlund and Seto are getting better and Coyle had good chemistry with Granlund in the AHL.

I liked the lines as well..Gotta find a way to get Bouchard involved somehow though..we need him scoring(goals/assists) to be successful.
Not sure if that means moving Clutter to the 4th line??
I like having where we have one extra forward for that top 9 so someone is always being held accountable but it gets tough when all the forwards have better games like last night.
Anyways hopefully Butch can get it going here soon. I'd also like to see Coyle finally pot a goal or two and start producing with all those chances he's received. The Kid is due!

I like the balance on that line. Let Brodziak be the defensively responsible one. Both Seto and Granlund are not shy about throwing hits while forechecking. Should be able to cause havoc in the offensive end. I predict we see some nice offensive zone time produced by that line tonight.

We haven't tried Koivu and Granlund together even though they've been linemates before. Koivu and Heatley provide the size to keep Granlund out of too much trouble.
Parise, like Koivu, is an engine that can get an entire line going. I think that's what Brodziak and Bouchard need to get the scoring going again, and Bouchard will make enough pretty plays to give Parise good chances. Brodziak puts some grit alongside Butch.
Setoguchi, Cullen, and Clutterbuck all play a fast, physical game and can all chip in for two-way play, checking, energy, and also scoring.
Fourth line, no changes necessary right now.

Granlund played either wing or center on 2nd line in the WC while Koivu centered the 1st line. Occasionally they had a chance to play together in middle of a line change or a similar situation, and always produced.
I would like to see them together as well.

When has MiG played center in the WC? I don't remember that at all.
Basically, from what I remember, Jalonen put MiG on the 1st line for short periods of time when the team no longer had anything to lose; first in the SF when we were down 1-6 and then in the bronze game. That first try-out led to a goal. I would say that at least in the bronze game it was no longer just a matter of being in the middle of a line change. IIRC, after we were down 1-3 after the 1st period, MiG took JJ's place on the first line for a while and looked great there. He kept on trying to get Mikko to score over and over again, but he just couldn't get it in. It wasn't about a lack of effort, though. For that stretch in the game those two seemed to be the only skaters who were at least trying to do something.

I can't stand all of these new people. Jesus Christ. Were not playing THAT bad. It's going to take time. 1st line looked good, keep them together. Stop this buyout Heatley nonsense. He's our 3rd best forward. It's not close.
Granlund looks good. He's now one of our best forecheckers and making things happening shift in and shift out. Still thinks he looks better offensively as a winger, but he is very defensively responsible IMO. Granlund looks good.
Seto looks good too. Not finishing obviously, but he's still playing hard. Seto-Brodz-Granlund looked really really good. Brodz is that bruising guy that helps Granlund.

Sure he has some faults, but he's also our best guy at carrying the puck into the zone and making things happen. He's going to lose the puck more than other guys too simply because he's trying to make plays instead of safely dumping it. Insert him 3rd line.
If Clutterbuck is out for a while...call up Zucker. From what I've heard Zucker isn't afraid to play a little physical and basically play like Seto (with finishing ability) Put him on the 3rd line. Center then with Cullen. (Defensively responsible, good face off man. Speedy. That can be our speed line)

Who is arguably our best defense at that? Spurgeon. (Don't give me any bull about the goal today, that was simply bad luck and he was out there with Falk.)
Gilbert is also probably our most physical defense so this would work pretty well.

Obviously, I think we would all cringe at the thought of Falk/Stoner out there together. That means putting one of these guys through waivers. Which, i'm 100% fine with. These guys are dime a dozen.
Call up Scandella. He's struggled, but they guy is mobile and can skate. Which, is what we need to turn this team's identity into. I'd keep Stoner

Look at it this way, it's a good problem to have, not like having Miettinen-Koivu and Bouchard-Belanger always penciled in every night. ;-)
Granlund is really playing a lot better right now, I think he warrants getting off the 4th line going forward.
