I am told the 'Hawks are looking for a Pominvile-like return for Bolland

hm. 5 years, 4 million for Vinny?
I'd say I'd think I'd do that.

I think Nonis should give Lecavalier's agent a call and start around that much and get him signed, before any other team gets their cheque book out.

Lecavalier is free...it's not really a race of who gets there first.

He'll listen to all offers and make a decision.

He's got another 2 good years left IMO.

Set the Bar and let him know we are very interested, also he has lots in the tank and he would only be 38 when the contract is up, he can still put up some pretty good numbers and may in fact do very well here, with our good young talent, other available players that are centers.....

Letangs wants over 7.5M LOL.

Pens are already offering an overpayment of 7M over 8 years. He's worth about ~6.5M.

No, but IIRC under the new CBA Tampa could certainly "re-sign" Vinny if the Leafs had bought him out.

They'd essentially be buying that 3rd overall pick.

Tampa trades Vinny + 3rd to a team.

That team buys out Vinny.

Vinny re-signs with Tampa at a lower cost, but is compensated via the buyout.

;)

From the 13th!!

You're an absolute beauty!

So you think its set between DET, MTL and TOR?

I hope liles isn't bought out. He is one of the few d men that move the puck well and have a good transitioning game. We were much better with him in the lineup this season.

With a wink and nudge that we will trade you back to Tampa in a year or two.

LOL that could work too ;)

i wonder if GMs are waiting. I mean other players that got bought out got signed already (see. Redden).

if Letang wants that much, he can stay with Pittsburgh.

get on the Phone Nonis.
Vinny's a centre, he can play the first line, he's got a cup, so he has experience... DO IT.

Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
Hearing that Letang camp informed Penguins earlier tonight that they were turning down an 8-year contract offer worth around $56 million.

Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
Also told that Letang camp counter-offered with a long-term deal which would pay less than $8 M (north of $7.5 M); Pens said too high

Letang may want that kind of money but if he wants to come to the Leafs, as he has supposedly, said he would, he is pricing himself out of the picture.

I agree with you but you and I are in the vast minority.(is that an oxymoron?)He isn't physical but most PMD's aren't. It's funny though how physical defencemen aren't called out as much for not being good skaters or puck movers. You need a blend of types of defencemen just as you need the right mix of forwards. It seems once the ball gets rolling on a theory that the anti(insert player's name) crowd grows. At least you know you have one ally in your assessment...lol

Not sure I want the Leafs to sign Vinny for 5 million/4 years considering he'll only realistically play 55 - 65 games a season.
