No way To. trades Gardiner for Seguin.

I doubt he even stays in the East. Boston wont risk sending him here or even worse, we send Gardiner to Boston?!!

Hate to say it, but Seguin has no real value right now. Gardiner at under a $ Million?

Your claim isn't wrong at all, found this on the Boston board:

Lyndon Byers (former player, now radio personality in Boston) on FB:

Rumors swirling on the draft floor that one of the reasons Seguin is on the chopping block stems from his partying and his extra circular activities and they feel this may be a concerned why he didn't produce during the playoffs..doesn't seem to be fitting in with the code of conduct becoming of a Bs player... HMMM interesting tidbit...

Thank you sir. Believe me this isnt the first bout of character questioning that has fallen upon him.

Daisy Joy: its true Scuderi and Ference are same age, but Scuderi logged top pairing minutes while Ference was 3rd string in Bos. Thats really the only reason why i would target him first.

Over if we're talking the entire day. Under if we're talking just draft.

All day. So many rumors out there, makes it fun to speculate. However I wonder how many of those rumors are factual.

I think Nonis has something up his sleeve here tho, I just have that feeling.

We kind of gave LA cap space to sign Scuderi though...hope he doesn't sign there and the Leafs get a chance.

Free agent crop this year is pretty amazing...no real stars but some really good players. Ryan Clowe is an afterthought in this years list.

We are going to walk away with a young top 6 center and a top 4 Dman for sure this offseason.

If I have learned one thing from Burke/Nonis, when they see a player that fits their vision, they go out and get him.

Kessel, Phaneuf, JVR, Bernier, Gardiner

I had a lot of faith in Burkie, still miss that guy. I still think Nonis has a lot of skill as a manager as well. He knows what he wants, is not scared to make moves and wont sacrifice the future.

One thing I think sometimes goes unnoticed around here, with our desire for a top center and a rh shutdown dman is the fact that we need more toughness in the top 6.

Orr, Larry and fraser provide a solid foundation and give our team a dimesion that I love. With that said, I want a middle weight who can pot a few, not drag down kadri's offence and drop the gloves with just about anyone

These guys are hard to find in both trade and free agency. David Clarkson would fit the bill for me if we could pick up a solid 3 line rw like clutterbuck. Would enable us to run a checking line of kuli, mac, clutter

I'm willing to give him a chance but at the right price not what was asked by one of our posters.

The reason he is being shopped around, is his sub par play, in the play-offs and basically what he has done all year.

I believe he has potential but I wouldn't trade anything much for him, he may become a good player and Boston may have brought him up too early, thus he may need more time to develop but it will have to be at the NHL level and will Carlyle give him that opportunity.

would that be due to the depth in Boston' - or that's what Ferrence is generally, a 3rd pairing.

i mean I know we have to think about cap dollars here, but if we could get both...

Scuderi for the 1st
Ferrence for the 2nd/3rd. that pushes Gunnar either down 2nd/3rd

and that's 2 cup rings for the price of one. :D

i can't figure out the capgeek calculator thinger (nor can I find Vinny) so I can't play with the numbers. (but goodness knows with my numbers dyslexia that's probably a good thing LOL)

Chiarelli compared the guy to Stevey Y today.

I don't think that they are looking for a 1st in the botom third of the round, a guy with negative value and a 6'5" Centre prospect that they drafted in the first round and liked so much that they traded for a rental.

Haha I don't think it's going to happen I was just throwing it out there for a laugh.

I think the Leafs are going to have some competition on July 5th when trying to ink Clarkson.

Boston isn't re-signing Horton, so I wonder who they will overpay to fill their need of a gritty scoring RW?

Im open to it, but we would have to be busy. Liles and one of Gunnar or Franson would definitely be gone, and the 6th/7th would be for a roster battle such as Reilly/Blacker/Holzer etc.

My guess is 2/3rds of the nhl will make contact with Clarkson's representative. The guy brings it all, night in, night out. No doubt there will be competition, I think hes attainable. With that said, I don't mind overpaying for a FA that bring what he does, within reason of course. Impacts the game on so many different levels.

With Clarkon you just have to hope he wants to play for his favourite team growing up and be back home. I doubt Nonis will come in with the top offer, but I have a feeling Clarkson will take a little bit less to play for the blue and white.

One can only hope man. I remember reading on here that there were rumors about him wanting to come play for T.O

Any of those credible or just circumstantial?

Phaneuf/Scuderi
Gardiner/Ferrence
Franson/Gunnar

that gives us
our shut down
our trouble makers (just with Gards speed alone)
and our dependables

[but Pi pointed out that LA has cap space now to sign Scuderi].

I'd let Rielly play in Junior one more year I guess since he can't do AHL yet.
blacker/Holzer fight for 6/7

Trade/Buyout
Lilies.
Fraser.

(I'd go "boom!" but truthfully, I don't know if that works Cap wise or not, but that's what I have in my head right now).
