I feel like the Bruins are trying to turn him into Phil Kessel, which has hurt his natural development as a centerman. He doesn't have the explosiveness, shot or stickhandling of a Kessel.

The Bruins negated his development by rushing him into the NHL. He's an NHLer but nothing special anymore. Buried to far down their depth chart to develop his offensive instincts.

To bad too. He could have been much better had he been brought a long slower.

Toronto
Pieterangelo offer sheet from Toronto come post Sunday
2 1st
1 2nd
1 3rd

Getting him costs us future draft picks and he is a #1D

Deal Phaneuf for a whopper package...to land a #1C

Sign Clarkson
Sign Scuderi

Trade for Clutterbuck

This would make us a contender for sure..

Except that St. Louis will match that offersheet.

Another player generated a lot of phone calls towards Vancouver is d-man Alex Edler. His NTC kicks in July 1 but teams are calling...

Not even close.

Komi has a bigger cap hit then he gets paid, and only has a year left. He's still a serviceable D-Man, he started off good last year before being waived.

Isles, Tampa etc love those contracts, and for a 7th, or a expiring contract (not a NHl player, just a no name) is very small and very possible. If say its a certainty

Leafs should be pretty much front loading every contract for this reason.

It seems like every reporter or want to be reporter is coming up with some new possible trade. With this much talking you would think something would actually be happening. I am starting to wonder if even the legit reporters are tweeting anything they hear just to sound relevant .#wheresthedominoes

With scout meetings, player interviews, it won't be until later tonight that deals start happening.

I expect the first deal will break open the floodgates as per usual

John Shannon just tweeted that he asked Gillis to confirm he isn't using a CBO on Luongo, his response?

"I just don't know"

This keeps getting better

Ya, I am starting to think they are waiting each other out and then try and pick up something cheap out of what is left. We should start a poll on who blinks first, I think Holmgren makes the next move.

There's a minimum walkaway amount ($3.5M). Fraser's arbitration would be below that, so Leafs would not have walk-away rights.

Don't see it getting that far though.

oooo, i didn't know about the walk away part. thanks! :) I just learned something new today!

[i agree, I don't see it getting that far too].

I'm putting my money on Jay Feaster.

Mike Cammaleri to... Nashville for Austin Watson and a 2nd in 2014

Cammy would play on the wing for Nashville. Along side Barkov, who they take 4th.

You haven't been paying attention have you? The cap is going down exactly how do you think teams will be able to meet the requirement of the cap fill a 23 man roster and cap space for injury call ups if the big money players aren't available?

Nonis is on record saying that there's a high amount of big named players available with very little takers due to the cap.... all these reports seem to back his statement.

Realistically, they only have a couple of days to figure this out. If they can't trade him, they'll have to waive them then buy him out before July 4th otherwise they'll carry his cap-hit all summer and be unable to sign any forwards.

No chance Cammi gets that type of return. With his cap hit at 6 million they'll have to give him away.

Lol, yes I have been paying attention. Some of these trade rumours are because of the cap going down i.e. cap max team trying to trade for cap relief. Therefore you would think that it would have the makings for more trades as teams try to shed salary.

Also with the draft all happening in one day i would think the GM's would want to make trades today as to not get caught by the time constraints of tomorrow.

Hog wash... This is what happens when people put the cart a head of the horse and believe the hype of the draft. He hasn't been rushed actually been a very good player for them in case you haven't noticed... Just because the hype on him was further north of what he actually is as a player doesn't mean Boston rushed him or ruined him. It just means he's just not turned out to be as good as the draft day hype which is getting very popular these days.;)

For me he's turning out to be exactly what I thought he would be. A player similar to Patrick Marleau or Chris Drury in his hey days.... Franchise player was way to over hyped same with the other guy who went #1 Taylor Hall. What they say he's the next Mark Messier :help: If he doesn't get his head up he'll be the next Lindros:sarcasm:

1. Cammy won't fetch that

2. Barkov will be gone before #4

He is a 50-70 pt player nothing more nothing less... With character issues and a soft game.

Mike Gillis is such a clown. Glad he isn't our GM.

is he a dick? yes
Can he be arrogant for no reason? yes
Is he awful at trading? Mostly, Yes.
Did he badly mishandle the luongo situation?, Yes
Is he the best GM when it comes to SIGNING contracts? yes and it's not close. (sedins, burrows, kesler, edler, hamhuis).

Every GM has it's good and bad, GMMG is no different.
