Great list. Not many disagreements, but wondering why you have Lazar out of the first round.

Not a fan of his game. Smaller power forward type, he does not possess the speed or skill that you would look for in an undersized player. Not really sure that his game will translate at all to the pro level. Also not great hockey IQ or defensive play. I am not a fan of his game whatsoever.

I like his skill level, and I don't think he's braindead hockey IQ wise, but I agree with not having him in the first round. I think he'll be an NHLer, but nothing special and nothing I'd waste a 1st round pick on.

Hoping that William Carrier is available at out pick in the second. Fast guy, good size, playing on an awful team. Injured for part of the year. Could be like Frk. Would love to draft him.

What do we think of Brendan Harms, right winger , committed to Bemedji State. He is a late 94, so this is his first year of eligibility. He played his grade 11 and 12 years with the Portage Terriers (MJHL) at over a point per game in both seasons. They made it to the RBC both seasons where he was almost at a point per game pace. This year he played with the Fargo Force (USHL) and was tied for 8th in points. He is 6'0, 170 pounds.

Completed a 7 round mock draft. Results for the Kings are:

57. Los Angeles Kings Hudson Fasching RW R 6'2" 213 1995-07-28 USNTDP (USHL) NA 070
88. Los Angeles Kings Gabryel Boudreau LW L 5'11" 167 1995-02-21 Baie-Comeau Drakkar (QMJHL) NA 052
96. Los Angeles Kings (CAR) Marcus Hogberg G L 6'4" 194 1994-11-25 Linkoping (SWE-JR) ING 004
103. Los Angeles Kings (PHI/CBJ/PHO) Carl Dahlstrom D L 6'4" 212 1995-01-28 Linkoping (SWE-JR) INT 018
118. Los Angeles Kings Gustav Olofsson D L 6'2" 189 1994-12-01 Green Bay (USHL) NA 051
146. Los Angeles Kings (MTL/NSH/MTL) Quentin Shore C R 6'0" 181 1994-05-25 USNTDP (USHL) NA NR
148. Los Angeles Kings Cole Ully LW L 5'11" 165 1995-02-20 Kamloops Blazers (WHL) NA 092
178. Los Angeles Kings Gustav Possler LW L 5'11" 167 1994-11-11 Modo (SWE-JR) INT 064
191. Los Angeles Kings (DAL) Ty Stanton D L 6'3" 173 1995-03-23 Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL) NA 078
208. Los Angeles Kings Axel Blomqvist RW L 6'5" 194 1995-01-30 Lethbridge Hurricanes (WHL) NA 163

Pretty happy with my draft. Not a fan of the fact I couldn't get a quality goalie in round 7. Not enough centres, but the players I picked I feel were undervalued, and fell in the draft, and I just had to have them as BPA. Thoughts?

Meh, I don't think he'll be drafted TBH. Not really a fan of his, Winnipeg board is also talking a lot about him as a Manitoba boy, but I don't really think he is much.

Fasching is a decent pickup in 2nd round.

Don't know if I am huge fan of Boudreau, Shore or Ully, but I have limited viewings of them.

I am hoping the Kings can land one of Coulombe, Yakimov or Bartosak in later rounds. Some of my sleeper favourites.

I would of had Yakimov at 88, but he was picked by St. Louis at 84. Coloumbe would of been my pick at 118, but he went way higher than usual at 105.

I wonder if there are any teams willing to relinquish quality in favor of quantity if the 1st round doesn't go as planned. Otherwise it'll be a lot of boom or bust for us.

I wonder if we could package some of those picks with Bernier to get a blue chip forward prospect, preferably LW.

in my opinion
1)trade bernier for a 1st rd pick plus a top prospect(connely+1st rd, forsberg+2nd rd, merril+1st rd, or strome+1st) yes bernier is that good and worth that much!!
2nd rd dman
3rd rd power forward
4th rd goalie
then best available

LOL good luck with that.

I have a couple of horses in this coming draft. One is a friends kid so I have again had to watch him play during his development more than I would other prospects making my opinion of him biased.

That said his name is Anthony Mantha (no relation) and he is a really solid LW. He is huge for his age (6'4" 204lbs) and can score with the very best of them. He plays big and likes to hit. He is going to need a couple of years (likely 3 to be honest) to develop and some have him listed as a 20th (or a little later) pick in the first round so unless JB returns us a 1st rd pick he may not be there for us unless we get creative but he is THE perfect fit for us.

A real character kid who is a natural leader and a hard player. He fades in and out at times but to me that is no different than all but the very elite in this draft and also because he tends to get into battling when at times he should stick and move.

One more year of jrs then MCH for a couple of years and we have a top 6 LW who is big plays tough and can snipe with all but the very best of them.

I want us to draft Mantha badly.

I want us to draft Mantha badly.

Me too. I am hoping that he can fall to far enough to warrant our trading up enough to get him. The Provonost family is great and AM would be such a great fit for us. He has been having his head filled with Los Angeles since he was little whenever I was around him so I bet he would be happy to be a King.

He is a quite kid away from the game but really likes a good laugh. Big fan of Sandler and Sandberg so he would love living in L.A. for that reason too. My guess is he ends up in either Montreal or Philly or the Isles but it is just a guess. The Habs would have to trade up but his family has serious ties with that org so you never know.

Why should Kings blow a high pick for a goalie again? Bernier was drafted 11th overall, he is young, cheap and ready for a starting role. And nonetheless the Kings will be lucky if he brings back the same value (11th overall pick) when traded. Probably not. I think it's not worth to pick goalies higher than in 4th round, especially because the Kings are set in net with Quick for a long time, so they only need a decent and cheap backup.
