This would be a brain fart deal for Montreal. At least, straight up. Pacioretty would be awesome in a Kings uni.

I personally hope it's true, assuming the return is someone capable of putting the puck in the net and playing on the 2nd line.

I think LITN said it best, many people here are enamored with Clifford because of how he played when he was younger, and in reality he really hasn't taken the next step or continued his insanely physical stlye he showed a couple of years ago (and concussions certainly played a factor)

The fact is, the Kings are loaded with 3rd and 4th line types, and if Clifford still has value around the league, and it could help address our glaring holes in other places then he is a prime target to be traded. And him being un-signed doesn't help either.

If the Kings were serious about Max Pac, there would have to be some serious pieces involved. He is signed at a great deal for quite a long time.

Even with something like Clifford and Pearson +, the + would have to be a good piece.

I don't know. I am more in your camp that Clifford should not have much value, especially based on how he looked at the end of last year. But some seem to think he has pretty good value, and maybe a team like MTL thinks they could get his development back on track. Although it seems odd, because they have a similar player in prust.

Can Lars Eller play the LW? He is the only guy who seems to make any sense value wise, and even then, the Kings would need to be adding, and likely a significant piece. The Kings aren't getting Patches or Gallagher for a fourth liner (not sure if people were serious)
