Best we've had since the CT 50 goal season, probably better.
How old was CT?

Another CHL player of the week award in the offing for the Duke?
18, I believe.
Of course it can be worrisome, but that is the case with most prospects. It is really difficult to say how they will end up. But Duclair is looking strong and is slotted for better production than CT, however, I guess we can only really hope for the best.So is it worrisome that he didn't end up doing much (though he still might) despite such great production. How do we know Duclair won't follow suit?
How is he defensively? Is he a one-dimensional liability? Or is he decent two way?A few months ago I saw a couple of Remparts games and watched Tony D play.
I said on this board that he is just a few pounds of physical maturity away from being in the NHL next year. This was before his contract signing. In my eyes he is the real deal. If he was a righty shot, I proclaim him a 25-30 goal scorer.
I was skeptical he was going to carry this pace, but he is too good for juniors now! Dominant player, and one that attacks the net in all sorts of ways.
Just a dynamic goal scorer, deflections, one timers, power play, in the slot, below the hash marks, odd man rushes, breakaways, he does it all.
Once people see him handle the puck at the speeds he skates in next preseason, he will be the shiniest toy in the bucket.

Also, Skapski put on an absolute clinic for Kootenay last night. 30 saves on 31 shots for a 4-1 win against Prince Albert. The game was much closer than the score indicated. He got the 1st star of the game. Having a very good year on a very mediocre team.
Duclair and Mantha are the very clear 1 and 2 in the scoring race of the Q, unless Jonathan Drouin were to play out of his mind the rest of the season. The closest behind Duclair's 85 points is Marcus Power, an overager who has 73 in 48 GP.
I'm telling you guys, Skapski is a legitimate prospect. He's the only pkayer keeping Kootenay in the game most nights. I think after Montoya, Lafleur, Stajcer and the whole host of random AHL guys like Zaba and Wiikman, that people are just down on goalies in our system. Skapski is one to watch, for sure.
No it isn't because Christian Thomas' failure to reach the NHL so far has absolutely nothing to do with if Duclair will.
Thomas was also really small, bad defensively, and a meh skater. Duclair doesn't have those problems.
What? Thomas is an absolute star in the making. He's playing today.
Seriously, let Duclair writing his own story. Each prospect is different and each has his own path.
Forgot to mention.
Duclair is the points leader among all CHL players born in 1995. Ahead of Drouin (though he's been injured), Bjorkstrand, Reinhart, Horvat, Lazar, Shinkaruk, etc.

Yeah, I think it's safe to say he would be picked top 10 this year if he'd been born a month later...
I find that I'm having to remind myself more and more frequently about Grachev in order to temper my expectations.![]()
Question is his hockey sense still considered "questionable"?
