after what we've seen so far, I'd claim Kundratek, waive Falk, Johnson and Syvret to Hartford, and keep Allen and Kundratek as 7/8

Conor Allen needs to be playing every day to develop his game, rather than playing two or three times a month with the Rangers.

Kundratek is exceptionally mediocre. What does he bring that's an upgrade over Falk or Johnson?

Guys hit waivers for a reason. I know everyone always thinks that other teams' trash is better than our trash, but it usually isn't.

Aaron Johnson is a replaceable part with little upside.
Kundratek is 23, righty and 6'2".
I believe in Ulf and AV being more committed to developing guys than Torts/Sully were.
AV's comment about keeping 8D were smart.
The top 6D will have nicks and bad games, there may be icetime for Allen.
He can always go down at a later date for game experience.

If we don't claim TK, I'd make the same argument for Hughes. Aside from his flubbed pass/shot, i liked his game last night.

Both Allen and Hughes seem more ready than McIlrath.

Daniel Briere was on waivers at one point by the Coyotes... their are a lot of reasons (finacial, roster limit, in the locker room etc) why players get put on waivers..

New York Rangers ‏@NYRangers 58s
BREAKING: #NYR assigns following players to @WolfPackAHL:
F: Haley, Kantor, Yogan & Kristo
D: Hughes, Johnson, McIlrath, Syvret
G: Talbot

NEW YORK RANGERS ACTIVE ROSTER:

Goal (2): Martin Biron, Henrik Lundqvist

Defense (9): Conor Allen, Stu Bickel, Michael Del Zotto, Justin Falk, Dan Girardi, Ryan McDonagh, John Moore, Marc Staal, Anton Stralman

Forward (19): Arron Asham, Brian Boyle, Derick Brassard, Ryan Callahan, Derek Dorsett, Jesper Fast, Carl Hagelin, Marek Hrivik, Chris Kreider, Oscar Lindberg, Brandon Mashinter, J.T. Miller, Dominic Moore, Rick Nash, Benoit Pouliot, Darroll Powe, Taylor Pyatt, Brad Richards, Mats Zuccarello

Bickel lives to see another day.

I have a sinking suspicion he makes the team, if only to torture me.

The cap compliant rosters are submitted on Monday afternoon. The NHL regular season begins October 1. The rest of these guys will be cut by Monday at the latest.

People seem to forget that the reason the Rangers traded Kundratek in the first place was because he asked them to. So what if he just doesn't want to be part of the Rangers organization? His main gripe if I remember right was he didn't believe he was getting a fair shot and is there anyone here that actually believes he would crack our top 6?--when what he's proven so far in his career is that he's a borderline NHL/AHL player. If the Rangers did grab him it is likely that if he made the NHL squad he would play very little and not be happy and also likely that if he went to Hartford he would be unhappy too. Why would we want this guy back?

They will need (4) more cuts from the forwards before the first game at the very least. Will all (4) come from Mashinter, Fast, Hrivik, Lindberg, Kreider, Miller?

I thought Haley looked good for a 4th line role honestly. Bickel still being here is horrifying. I think Fast may make the team.

Powe, Mashinter and Hrivik I would think. Last cut harder to predict

I think it will be Powe, Asham, Lindberg, Hrivik, Allen all down.

Fast-Richards-Nash
Pouliot-Brassard-MZA
Kreider-Miller-Boyle
Mashinter-Moore-Dorsett
Pyatt

McDonagh-Girardi
Staal-MDZ
Moore-Stralman
Falk-Bickel (ew)

I think AV and his assistants will want to dress Mashinter every now and then in this division and Sather will be pushing for that. Sather doesn't like to get pushed around.

I could dig that
Would like to see Lindberg instead of Pyatt though
