This board needs to grow up with the stupid nicknames. It's embarrassing to read.
 
Allen has been much better than Falk and Johnson this preseason, not that that's been very difficult.
 
Yeah we should just use the nicknames they use on the team.

Staalsy, Stralsy, Mooresy, Boylesy, Zuccsy, McDonaghsy, Stepansy...

they top 6 is set, Falk was brought in to be the 7th and if they have an 8th its likely Johnson as a vet who is familiar with the CLB players and coach.

If Bickel makes the team I cry. Allen and McIlrath need to be getting tons of minutes in CT.

Joe Colborne is not waiver exempt. Jim O'Brien is available.

Both players will probably be available on waivers.

O'Brien has a $637,500 hit. Can play center and right wing. Right-handed shot. Colborne has a $600,000 cap hit. He can also play in the middle and on the wing. Cheaper options for the Rangers as a 13th or 14th forward.
 
If Colborne could put it all together like people thought he would when he was drafted he'd be a huge steal. That said I think its highly unlikely at this point.

Yeah, it's probably not going to happen for him. Still, he's a big guy that's tough to knock off the puck and he still has soft hands. He could be a more offensively-oriented Boyle. That's not a terrible option as a 13th forward.
 
I really liked Colbourne in his draft year. Kid just does not look like he's gonna put it together though.

Agreed on Allen as well, very impressed. Good wheels. Would be best served by AHL time though.

Please just don't turn into the Devils board calling all the players by their first names. I find that 100x more annoying.

I'd take either of those guys if they were waived, but I would rather trade a player for a player. Powe, Asham, Pyatt, Mashinter. Trade a player for a player. Don't take on any more contracts and clear some space.

I imagine Powe and Asham will be on waivers as early as today. Im sure they have tried to dump them
 
I think if Colborne is waived, he'll be snapped up early. Wouldn't be a bad 13th forward, but we need to shed some bodies to begin with. Would have to be a trade, IMO.

Franson is the type of player we could use on the PP, but there's no room for him in the defensive group, and I doubt we could fit his salary in.

I'm not sure about Asham. Guy can has pretty good speed and can shoot the puck plus he fights. I think he's been given three preseason games because management aren't sure and want to see more of him.

Of course they could just be showcasing him hoping some other team will trade for him or pick him up on waivers.
