So I have three RB that are must-starts at the moment: Peterson, Lynch and Stacy. I also have Ivory and Tate. Yesterday, someone cut Doug Martin.

Do I drop one of Ivory or Tate to pick up Martin? I'm deep at the position so I'm somewhat willing to take a gamble. I can also, in theory, start 4 RBs in a given week with 2 RB spots and 2 flex spots.

Definitely drop one, but it's sort of a crapshoot which one. Martin is a #1, clear cut, starting back. Ivory and Tate are both severely limited by their timeshare situations.

I agree.

I'm inclined to cut Tate, since he truly is the backup. Many of his reps this season have been due to nothing more than Foster's health. If Foster is healthy, I feel like Tate gets 8 touches or less per game. Ivory, on the other hand, seems to be the Jets preferred starter. If he continues to play well, he'll get double the touches of Powell. With all that said, there's no guarantee Foster stays healthy (he's not at the moment) and there's no guarantee Ivory continues to be productive. As you said, crapshoot...

I got a counter offer: Demarius Thomas for Eddie Lacy. Should I accept? My gut says no.

My RBs: Jamaal Charles, Eddie Lacy, Alfred Morris, Fred Jackson

WRs: Brandon Marshall, Pierre Garcon, Vincent Jackson, Larry Fitzgerald

I'd say you're good. Lacy's gonna get a LOT more handoffs with the Rodgers injury, and he's a very good player, so I'd stick with him.

Thinking about grabbing Crabtree after this week.

Yeah, I just put him on my watch list so I don't forget. It's a sneaky pickup that could really help come playoff time.

Not sure who to drop though. Brandon Marshall, Keenan Allen, Kendall Wright, Steve Johnson and Marvin Jones make up my WR corps. I guess I'll see if Jones gets any targets this week, and either drop him for Crabtree or stand pat.

Giants should grab Incognito. The Mara Family has never had a problem with criminals as long as they help the team. The o-line is so bad, and he def helps. The playoffs are still a possibility. I bet a lot of teams could care less that he's acted like 90 pct of linemen in the history of football.

Usually i'd agree about taking a flyer on a "criminal" but I don't want this ******* anywhere near my team. The way he and his family handled it was downright despicable, and speaks tomes about how awful humanity can be at a level that goes far deeper than football.

The Giants sneaking into the playoffs this year and getting bounced in the first round is without question the worst possible scenario for the way this season plays out, IMO.

No...

Oh please. The Giants signed Christian Peter, who pissed on a girl and choked out another one. The circus died after a week.

Plaxico Burress ring a bell?

The Giants organization flat out isn't the type to sign Incognito. I would be shocked if it happened, even though I would approve if he helped the team. It's a major risk, though.

Also, if the Giants somehow lucked their way into the playoffs, I would fully support it. That would mean they finished the season strong and I'll take my chances with Playoff Eli. Making a run wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility, there isn't a single NFC team I'm that impressed by this season.

Really? Seahawks? Niners?

Really? Seahawks? Niners?

The Seahawks haven't looked impressive lately. Barely won against the winless Bucs and the woeful Rams. 18 points away from being 1-4 in their last 5. There is something to be said about the way they manage to win games. Still, if the Bucs and Rams can take them to the wire, the Giants can at the very least can eke out a win. The Seahawks at the beginning of the season were dominant but they've cooled off despite the record. It's not a great match up for the Giants since the one place their vulnerable is rush defense but still, they can be knocked off before the Giants have to play them.

San Fran, in my opinion, is the team to beat in the NFC. Their defense is great and it would take a great game from Eli to put up more than 20 points. To stop their offense, you need to stop the run and actually the Giants have been great at that over the last couple of games. This isn't the worst match up they could face. That would probably be the inconsistent Saints who just lost to the Jets and aren't a lock to make the playoffs.

Either way, the parity in the NFL this season seems to be notable on an all-time basis for professional sports. It truly looks like any team can beat any other team on a given week. Should the Giants enter the playoffs with momentum and have Eli play like has twice before, they have a chance. That's all you could ask for in any season.

Agree on Niners as the team to beat.

Don't sleep on Seahawks. Yes they've been playing poorly last couple weeks but that team is stacked and are awfully hard to beat at home.

as good as the seahawks running game and secondary is, their o-line and passing game are lagging behind. i could totally see this as a trap game for the giants considering the raiders got whooped by nick foles last week and im sure they aren't too happy about that.

Seahawks? Niners? Saints? Panthers?

I addressed those first 3 teams in my last post but I have to commend you on bringing the Panthers into the equation. They have a great defense, a QB who is very close to being a star, and a run attack that's going to be even better with Jonathan Stewart coming back from injury. The Panthers absolutely throttled the Giants earlier in the year. That would be a very tough game to win for the Giants. The one advantage they would have would be the postseason experience but I don't know if there's a way to quantify how much of an advantage that really is.

I would definitely consider the Panthers as the #1 sleeper team in the NFC.

The Giants should beat Oakland, one of the worst teams in the league today and should root for the Saints beating the Cowboys.

If this happens, The Eagles and Cowboys will have only one less loss than the Giants. Looking at losses, the Giants need to go 9-7, and have Dallas go at best 8-8, for a realistic shot at the playoffs.

The giants have almost no chance of beating Dallas in a potential tiebreaker, but a much better chance of beating the Eagles, as NY are 1-2 in the division and Philly is 2-2.

If everything goes right, the next game against Dallas will be a huge opportunity for NY to close some ground.

Am I stupid for starting C.J. Spiller (dropped F. Jackson for Spiller) over Vincent Jackson as my flex?

Spiller seems to be bouncing back and has a good matchup while Jackson has a difficult one.

The games start soon, so we'll see how that turns out...
