It's a terrible world that we live in.

Not really. We live in one of the least violent times ever in the history of mankind. The problem is the media just amplifies it to no end. Sorry to go off topic, but it's just such a myth that we live in this violent society and all.

It's disgusting what the animal did to AP's son, though.

The Giants should take a page from the Jets this offseason. Build the O-line in round 1 and then get the rest of the pieces to fill around that line. 04 Draft still going strong for them. Brick and Mangold anchor this line. Pugh has a chance to be good. Get the best C in the draft. Look for some vets to fill out the rest of the line to compete with young late drafted players. Jets own the line on both sides of the ball. It still leads to winning games over skilled spots. Skill puts you over the top.

JPP is not done, but should be sitting out if hurt. No sense in playing him. Have him 100% before he sets foot on the field. Prince, JPP, and Beason. Build around that. It is not far off. Develop a TE and keep him. Letting Bennett walk was not smart.

I would also think Eli should sit out some games later in the season. Give Nassib some starts. See if they can increase value and get a higher pick for him. Try and make him the next Matt Flynn.

That's not saying much. There are still many atrocities happening on a daily basis all around the world. It's easy to lose sight of that living in the USA.

I respectfully disagree, because what I am talking about is evident worldwide. I made a post on it before in the politics board if you want to find it (a better place to discuss this, anyway).

I agree with a lot of what you said. Letting Bennet go wasn't that big of a deal to me though for the money he was seeking. I am THOROUGHLY disappointed in Myers so far. Eli has a long history of making TEs look good. Myers has been very underwhelming.

I also want to say that while Beason was good on Thursday, he's not the future ILB for this Giants team. Even if he can reach near the form he was playing at early in Carolina, he's still already 28... which for the most part is pretty old for an ILB.

As Madden used to always say in the old Madden video games, you win games in the trenches

Hah, I actually think letting TBU go was a massive mistake. No reason to let such a good player walk when we didn't have a replacement.

In hindsight, I agree. I liked Marty a lot. I liked his personality and thought he fit in well with the team. TBU stuff is hilarious, and he's always good for a soundbite.

But, past Eli had a reputation of making TEs look good. From Boss, to Ballard, to Bennett, and not to Myers.

For the TE position, I think the Giants are better off with a guy like Myers... well, when Myers plays well. A guy who's better in pass blocking than he is at being an offensive tight end. A mean SOB who can lead runners on blocks, but also catch the ball when it calls for it.

The Giants don't need a Jimmy Graham type TE. They have too many weapons at WR where they need their TE to be a huge threat. But, they do need a guy who can come up clutch on 3rd and short, or make the big play over the middle of the field.

I'd look at snatching a guy like that in the 4th round this year.

DE, OL, LB, TE, CB, WR/OL

Is a draft I'd be okay with for the Giants this season... In a perfect world I'd like to see them add a pick or two so they can start building with a little more power.

On a semi related note; Has anyone played Madden with Giants and realize Myers gets bulldozed literally EVERY TIME you run to his side? I'd say it's a very accurate game.

Several NFL clubs are planning to determine the degree to which New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks might be available via trade following New York dropping to 0-6 this week, according to league sources.

Teams view Nicks as the best option available and with the Giants in a freefall, big changes possibly on the way there, and Nicks a potential unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, other general managers want to hear for themselves just how amenable to a trade Giants GM Jerry Reese might be. Several GMs contacted believed the Giants could get at least a third-round pick for Nicks, even if he is just a late-season “rental” who then hits the open market in March.

Nicks, 25, could end up being the highest-paid player in what looks to be a pedestrian free-agent class (tight end Jimmy Graham, for instance, is going to be franchised by the Saints if he isn’t extended), and a team acquiring the star receiver at the trade deadline would only owe him about $1.4M for the remainder of the season based on his $2.7M salary).

Among the teams holding internal discussions about him, according to club sources, were the 49ers and Falcons (who lost Julio Jones for the season but are not conceding the season … at least certainly not yet). New England and Baltimore are also contending teams in need of an upgrade at receiver, and the market for Nicks would be robust, sources believe, if the Giants express a willingness to listen to offers.

New York is an old-school team, and wouldn’t want to give off indications it is writing off the season, however, with Nicks a big fan of Eli Manning, and someone not seeking a trade himself, the strong possibility always remains the Giants could still re-sign him as a free agent in the spring even if he did depart. There is no ill will or hard feelings between the sides, sources said. It's just the contrary, and Nicks has never blanched or complained about not getting an extension from the team.

The Giants did sign receiver Victor Cruz to an extension however, and with Rueben Randle emerging this season and the team aging and with many holes to fill, some wonder how many resources New York would invest into one position group, like receiver (especially with Manning able to cultivate pass catchers over the years). Nicks would be in line to command more than the $12 million a year Mike Wallace got from Miami in free agency last year.

Just look real good. So disappointed Mo missed that safety> I loathe Ben he always does that to us. Love the 55th massive penalty missed by a ref that would have helped the Jets for the year

It's so refreshing to see the Jets get to the QB without sending the house. Big Ben is an animal though. No idea how he manages to slip out of some of these tackles.

Antonio brown just got 15 passing (not receiving) yards on my fantasy team, what just happened?

What did they put in Clyde Gates' water this week? Was it from Winslow? He's been real good today.

The offense has not looked bad bc they've moved. They also have failed to put up points. It's time to finish a drive already

:facepalm" terrible overthrow into triple coverage where all the coverage was deep

Week's where the Jets play Pit should just be off weeks for Jets fans. Why bother showing up when the team never does? Cannot express in words how frustrated I am that this franchise cannot beat Pitt no matter what the circumstances are with that snow bowl being pretty much the 1 in a million exception. Just once I want the Jets to win 38-14 against this team instead of meekly, pitifully failing to win every time. I hate you so much &*@^burgh. Still over a quarter but this is an all too familiar sight
