good news re: coyle. he's a conditioning freak, so he should know how far how fast to test the injury. didn't quite work last time. just hope he can say "when" if he feels it going on him during the game.

Charlie coyle in morning skate you guys should listen to this talks about zucker and harding http://www.kfan.com/media/podcast-paul-allen-kfan-fm-1003-KFAN_PADubay/115-hr1-russoflorio-23930886/
Also read his twitter about zucker since some people don't seem to get it.

Reading that comment section is a horrendous experience.

Russos they think it's really simple to put zucker in the lineup.

Kinda feel bad for Zuck. That training camp injury cost him a roster spot IMO and didn't make it any easier on himself when he returned prematurely in an attempt to save that spot. HOWEVER, I believe that GM's, coaching staff etc will test certain players (especially ones who struggle w/ consistency) to see how they handle it when things don't go their way. With his play thus far in Iowa, I personally think he hasn't earned a call up yet. Russo's right though, Zuck will be a solid NHLer in years to come. They are kids, but his reckless head hit & subsequent suspension shows a poor attitude. Go back and watch Yeo's interviews from camp & preseason. When Zuck is brought up in a question, Yeo's demeanor changes a little bit. As if to hint there's a lack of trust in either Zuck's game or attitude or both. Obviously these are just opinions & please remember that before literally ripping my face off lol.

Maybe Pominville should have a talk with Zucker...JP spent nearly three full seasons in the AHL before he became a regular NHLer.

The Wild are not in a position where they need to rush his development. He just needs to realize that his time will come and he just needs to focus on becoming a more well-rounded player and learn how to play within Yeo's system.

Russo's blog on Ballard

Defenseman Keith Ballard did not accompany the Wild to our nation's capital this morning.

He will miss the two-game trip that starts Thursday against the Capitals and continues in Raleigh on Saturday with an upper-body injury. Coach Mike Yeo said it is in no way related to the concussion that kept him out of seven games recently and that the team has gotten Ballard checked out and it doesn't believe he'll be sidelined "long-term."

It was not the injury that cost him a roster spot. Nino, Granlund, Coyle, Fontaine was just better and best players are gonna play. Granlund missed a same time that Zucker did on the training camp, but Granlund is just more complete player than Zucker. Consistency is a big deal and if you are looking our other young guns, they can help this team every night on some way. You can't play in NHL if you can't defence..

I found a screenshot from two years ago, 25 games into the season when we were still leading the league. We had earned 33 points, 66% out of the ones available. This season we've earned 21 points in 16 games, 65.625%. We're 8th in the league.

Yeah, until St. Louis catches up in GP. Good point though. Can't help it that the West has been just snacking on Eastern conference teams. Throws things off a little.

Parise wants to eliminate the fly-by the bench after goal celebration thing. Decent article about why it's disrespectful or whatever but then there is this:
“Maybe disrespectful isn’t the right word. I think it looks cheesy, to be honest.”

As the word left Parise’s mouth, teammates caught wind.

“Some guys score too much and think they should just big-wheel to center afterward,” cracked Torrey Mitchell.

Chimed in Kyle Brodziak, “Yeah, I scored again, no big deal.” Joked Mitchell, “Yeah, just a game-winner.”

Justin Fontaine, a 26-year-old rookie, has done the flyby after all five of his goals, saying, “You’re excited, so you want to fly by the boys.”

“Like Z was going for sure,” interrupted Dany Heatley, causing the locker room to roar with laughter because he was referring to Zenon Konopka’s first goal in almost two calendar years.
