I think we need to temper expectations a little bit until we actually see him. He's a good prospect, but to say that you haven't been excited about any prospect as much in a long time would be an insult to Lundqvist, Staal, McDonagh, Stepan.

Temper expectations on what could be the Swedish Elite League playoff MVP !? And he's a Center !? If this isn't a guy to get excited about I don't know who is.

Ironically the last time I was this excited was also for a Swedish Elite league playoff MVP

I'd think you'd be crazy to say he couldn't play in the NHL.

The kid is doing his job, playing great. It's not his fault the Ranger's are so poorly constructed that they need kids like this to come in and show the regulars how its done. That should be the conversation every time we have to bring guys in to 'save the season'.

I think the expectations on OL is still reasonable.

But, he isn't an extremely talented hockey player, and I would not have cried had we like traded him for a good NHLers (like the F Foraberg for Erat trade). He is definitely not like the future of the org or something.

But he could become a solid player for us. That's all you can ask for. And I really think building teams with depth of guys like JT Miller, Fasth and Lindberg is the way to go to win in this league. The modern kid is good both ways but still can create offense.

AIK beat Linkoping. They made the final. 5 games. They were leading 2-0 in the game one and lost 3-2. Lulea is up 3-1 in their series. Game 5 is tomorrow.

Next year should be a big year for skjeis development. Minnesota lost their lone senior d man helgeson, then undrafted defeseman junior nate schmidt signed. And now junior defenseman mark alt signed with philly. Looking for skjei to step up and definately play top 4 minutes, maybe top pairing. With the experience he got this year i think he is ready to

Lucia already said Skjei and O'Reilly would have bigger roles next season. Marshall is the only other full-time D returning for next season. Parenteau and Holl played forward this season. Parenteau played both forward and D. Both of them will be full-time D next season. Minnesota has Brodzinski coming in. Another recruit Tommy Vanelli will be a Gopher next season and not in 2014. The Gopher fans are surprised Alt left. About a month ago,I heard Alt was leaving for the Flyers. That makes seven.

He was in every highlight of his team, crazy! On a side note I guess those were the blue team's announcers.

I guess there's a reason why we gave up draft choices instead of prospects. With Lindberg, Fast, Kreider, Miller, Thomas, McI...and not to mention all the young guys on the team already, the future looks bright for this team. Now if only they could lay off signing FA's to long, ridiculous contracts

Actually not, TV only has one crew per game in the SEL both regular season and playoffs and they're not supposed to be homers(even if some commentators are from the area, obviously).

It was an exciting goal scored at an exciting time during the game which meant OT for the fourth consecutive game between the teams. The announcer was happy for the game and the series more so than for the team that scored.

I'm being extremely nitpicky here and probably a bit childish, but I'd like to nip this one in the bud.

AIK missed they playoffs, Skellefteå AIK made the final. Different teams.

AIK (f. 1891) is the team that has been a stepping stone for a surprising amount of NHL goaltenders: Fasth, Gustavsson, Bäckström, Thomas, Kiprusoff.

Skellefteå AIK (f. 1921) is the team that has produced a several of Sweden's top talents the past few years: Larsson, Erixon, Rundblad, Lindberg.

Skellefteå's fans try to refer to themselves as "AIK" even though AIK proper has been around for longer, is the bigger club, better in every sport except currently in hockey. Skellefteå even modeled their emblem and colours from AIK.

It is sort of like if Columbus would start calling themselves the Blueshirts. You just can't let something like that slide.

Sandstrom and Dahlen were the last Swedish scoring forwards the Rangers produced.

Sundstrom benefitted from playing with Gretzky and then bottomed out into a role player immediately.

Dahlen was a goal scorer. He was traded straight up for a prime Gartner. He was a 30-35 goal scorer with or without the injuries.
