much much better than their last few games.

It's been a long time since they played a game as complete as this. If the trend goes from playing awful first halves and awesome second halves to average first halves and awesome second halves, the Knicks are gonna get back on track.

...That passing by the Spurs scrubs on that possession right there was ****ing awesome.

Hopefully ,this win goes a long way in building up the confidence of the team. They have it in them to play like this. They can win a 'ship playing like that.

Amare's lost his explosiveness. Sad sight to see.

I agree, but he played a good game today. His defense was average to good, which is awesome by STAT standards, and as soon as he shakes off the rust all those bounces at the rim with his jumper are going to start putting points on the board.

Hopefully as he keeps getting back into game shape he can start finishing near the rim.

Can someone tell me how the salary cap works in the NBA? There is no capspace, correct? You can spend as much as you want? If so, I'm wondering as to why the media is saying the Knicks can't sign Chris Paul without trading one of Stoudemire/Chandler.

Don't know if I'm right... at all, but

I believe there is a soft and hard cap

The soft cap is lower, and is what works like the regular salary cap
Team can however pass the soft cap, and enter the higher hard cap area
In that extra space, the team has to pay more money than they actually would cap wise
The hard cap cannot be passed, like the normal NHL cap

If so, money is irrelevant for MSG if they put up a winning product. Lakers IIRC are spending 100m this year. 20m than the Knicks.

Knicks use that 20m and possibly even send pieces to LA like Felton, Novak, Camby in a sign and trade.

There are a bunch of exemptions you can use to exceed the cap. I doubt anyone of them fit Paul.
