Personally I think it's a terrible contract for BJ. Justin on the other hand a is a good player.

Braves have a very fast OF, could be huge

Damn, really wanted him on the Jays. He could easily win over 20 games a season and finish with 300+ wins in his career if he played for a team that could provide him with at least two runs of offence in a game.

for what the Mariners would want in a trade, that wouldnt be the Jays. Besides, with the Mariners moving the fences in, I'm sure they'll give him plenty of run support this year. power numbers should be much better

The five days have come and gone now....geez, if there was any weekend I wasn't thinking about pitchers and catchers it was this one with our crappy winter weather lol.

I'm barely thinking about baseball at all. It's hockey season.

Would have been nice for the Mets to land him (if it would have been without them giving up the 11 pick), but they're fine without him too. They're not going to be competing this year or next (in all likelihood). Not the time for them to be giving out a contract like that.

on the way to the game tonight I heard Michael Kay blast the Mets for not spending money to upgrade the team, then a minute later saying you can't spend money just to spend it...Michael kay is a blockhead

Reyes on Loria from ESPN.....yikes;

"I was shocked, because Jeffrey Loria, he always told me he's never going to trade me," Reyes said on his first day as a Blue Jay. "He always called my agent and said, 'Tell Jose to get a good place here to live,' and stuff like that."

In fact, Reyes said he and Loria attended a dinner together only a couple of days before the trade, and "he was talking still about 'get a nice house in Miami.'"

"That was kind of crazy," the 29-year-old Reyes said. "I mean, how can you want me to spend some money in Miami, when I have my house in New York, and you're going to trade me in two days?"

"But I feel sorry for the fan base there in Miami because they had a great fan base there. To let them down like that, I mean, that's going to be tough for them."

Reyes said he also feels sorry for Giancarlo Stanton and the other Marlins players who remain on a team that has cut more than $70 million in payroll since last year.

"Stanton, he's an unbelievable great player. Great guy. Great teammate," Reyes said. "But like I say, it is what it is. I feel sorry for him. But that's the way it is."

I'm not surprised by Reyes' comments at all. It should be no secret by now that the Marlins are a total scum organization.

The Marlins aren't a scum organization... Loria and his partners are pure piece of crap and the commish is mainly responsible for letting him dismantled another team to the ground like he did with the Expos.

What Loria did with the whole Miami house thing is mind boggling

Doesn't surprise me one bit. The guy is business man and doesn't give a crap about the players he acquires or the team he's trying to run. The bottom line is that he wants to make a profit over the investment he purchased and that's about it.

To him, it's a game more then anything else and by what he did with the organisation here in Montreal, it's a complete miracle that Selig gave him another crack at it with the Marlins.

Every time a Loria team gets too close to being successful, he holds a fire sale. Nobody should be surrpised at this point.
