TIL Lamoriello is a minority owner of the Yankees. He has a 2009 Championship ring.

****ing awesome, I had no idea.

Lou has a pretty interesting connection to baseball

He was offered a contract by the NY Giants (baseball) as a catcher and turned it down because the Giants had a catcher set in stone and he wanted to coach instead and wound up coaching in the Cape Cod league - it was there that he got Bobby Valentine to play for him and the two remain good friends today

and then of course the Yankee connection as a minority owner and a close friend of papa Steinbrenner when he was around - Steinbrenner was at game 7 of the 03 finals watching from Lou's office

Cool News! I knew about his connection to baseball but not as a minority owner of the Yanks.

Well good news is I'll be working at Arm and Hammer Park in Trenton, so I'll be able to get on the field with Granderson and Tex..maybe even an interview!

San Diego
(Don't mind me, I just need to vent)

Note to self: Stop buying tickets ahead of time.

Doing a road trip with old roommates to Phoenix this weekend to catch some Spring Training games along with the WBC. Due to lack of communication/reading comprehension by my friends, I have to sell USA/Canada tickets for a loss.

Then I went out and bought tickets for Dodgers/Giants for Friday. Since I'm a spoiled person from San Diego, I didn't even think to check the weather. Yesterday, I'm watching the news and there's an 80% chance of rain here locally. I immediately check to see if that would affect Phoenix.......and they similarly have a 70% chance of rain. Now I'm worried about the murky return policy since I bought the tickets through StubHub.

Stubhub should essentially give you your money back if the event doesn't happen. That's generally their policy. Now if the game gets re-scheduled, that may change things. That's where things get a little tricky and you'll have to look into their policy a bit more.

I have more respect for Mariano than any other Yankee I've ever seen.
