As much as I want this to work for the Rangers, a small part of me wants a small cap just to destroy the Bruins and Wild. Still want to keep this team together and make a couple of runs so that is my primary wish.

ha...just wondering, on the wild who do they buy out, if anyone? AND on the bruins who do they buy out, if anyone?

my guess wild would buy out heatley, I don't know if he is worth what he is getting paid, but I don't follow him or wild much, but I cant believe they would buy out either suter or parise before they even played a game for them and got HUGE signing bonuses.

my guess bruins buyout I don't have a clue, chara is making a lot, but worth it and means WAY too much to them, lucic/krejci I don't know if you can get rid of either of them and Thomas comes off the books next year.

Thinking a deal will be done by the deadline of Jan 11th...Part of me thinks it can be done before that but we will see....and I read somewhere on twitter from a insider that NHL Gamecenter will be FREE for the season...by the way, since I'm new here, if any of you are on twitter, give me a follow @BR19MG10 :)

LeBrun tossed it out as something the NHL should do the other day while Josh Rimer I think it was said it was being discussed as an idea. It's the least the NHL could do after all of this.

Swedish TV journalist Marie Lehman that is in Russia at WJC says that several NHL top guys (owners) have
spoken about NHL and the lockout. The conclusion was that there won't be a season.

Ehm, where does she say that it's the owners that have said that?

So, you're just supportive of what would help the Rangers in any given moment?

What a noble stance.

Rangers have nothing to do with it. You can't make the argument that it's good for the sport to have teams having to trade away their best players merely to comply with a cap that they didn't anticipate.

Conversely, you can make the argument that a lot of the other owner proposals are good for the sport. Such as the ability to get out from bad contracts sooner, since bad contracts force teams to continue to employ bad players (or players who aren't earning their spots at least), and it waters down the product on the ice.

This proposal isn't good for the game.
