Everyone else seems to believe that they're so close and we will have a season.

Seems like an erroneous report.

Yeah I think I'd take that report with a large grain of salt unless we see other people reporting it. I tend to think some NA journalists would be hearing similar things

Well seeing that there is a gag order, id say whoever that is is full of it.

I can of course not verify the info, and it's speculation no matter what.

But the reporter is extremely serious and well respected, and she is definitely not the type who makes things up. She also got #suprised after her tweet.

She basically says "Alot of initiated people from the NHL at the hotel. Many does not belive that there will be a NHL season ... #suprised"

Like I said, she and Mikael Renberg and a few others are covering WJC's for Swedish TV and they are doing a serious job and constantly interviews GMs and high officials. It's not that big of a crowed at the hotels besides the players, and some people there are obviously pessimistic. I recon it's guys from a group of people like Yzerman, Messier, HÃ¥kan Andersson, and maybe even a GM.

Conspiracy Theory XXXIV

I dunno what to believe anymore as their have been too many ups and downs in this. I'm only wondering if anyone else has thought this or explain why the NHL wouldn't be doing this:
Could the NHL be stalling to cause the NHLPA to go over the date to file disclaimer of interest (if that's what it was called)? Doing so would cause them to have to re-vote again I believe. By the time they are allowed to file, it will be too late to salvage a minimum 48 game season, this making it the PA bad as if they're the reason the season was canceled.
I WANT to believe the season is so close to being saved, but also fear NHL is all of a sudden willing to negotiate after giving up considerably... I have a gut feeling theirs another motive all of a sudden... Was it really the fear of the PA disclaiming?
Well, it looks like Henrik is on his way back from Sweden... Possibly we might see more coming back cause the season really might be saved.

Lundqvist has been one of the more classy, upbeat players during this lockout. I'm glad to see that, and it makes me not feel bad for defending him until the death on the main board!

I still don't get why people say this. He has absolutely not been one of the more classy players. For the first few months of the lockout, he's been complaining the entire time.

For some reason, when Lundqvist says something stupid, it has been ignored, but when he says something smart, everyone praises him for it.

I think its going to be everyone's own opinion about it, but I have read his tweets and his article he wrote for the post and thought he has been one of the more classy players, but like I said everyone is going to have a different opinion.

I don't care what he has to say about the lockout. His service to the team has already earned him legend status, and I suspect by the end of his career he will make the HOF and have him number retired.

That's besides the point. Lundqvist is my favorite player of all-time. I know he will get his number retired and most likely he will get into the HOF if he gets a Cup, but I definitely don't think he's been classy along the way of this lockout.

I haven't seen anything from him that I would interpret that way.

He wrote a column about his frustrations. He said he wanted the big market teams to have been allowed a say.

All of it sort of came back to the fact that he wants to play hockey. I can't blame him for that. And I can't say I would've handled the situation any differently than he did.

I wonder why....

He started off on Prust-type levels. A lot of the Rangers players did. Since then though, he, along with the other Rangers players who were quite outspoken, have toned it down significantly.

Del Zotto was the ****ing worst though

Del Zotto is just about to start coming into some serious money. A lost season would've cost him probably 3 million dollars.

It doesn't excuse his statements, but it certainly explains them.

Why don't you guys just simply not follow these players on Twitter? This I'll never understand.

Man I hope this mess is settled this time around. Now that the Giants are toast I need me some hockey. I can never overcome my hatred of the NBA so that's out. Let's get this done!

I'm not sure why people are getting on Hank's case about some of his comments during the lockout. We all know the man is passionate about what he does, and he wants to play and win a Cup here in New York more than anything else. I don't fault him one bit for any his comments as he just wants to play. He had the stones to say what many were thinking. Even so, they were nothing compared to MDZ or Brandon Prust...

Drop the puck. Last time I saw Hank was in Atlantic City at the charity game (which someone forgot to tell him it was for charity, especially with 20-something saves in the 1st period). The next time we see Hank will hopefully be on Garden ice in the very near future!

None of the comments criticizing any player seems justified to me. It seems like people expect guys to be unbiased, despite the fact that they are solidly on one side of the dispute. That's just unrealistic. Some guys are more militant than others, of course. That's the way it always is. But criticism over it? Uncalled for.
