As early as the 26th or 27th? WTF are they talking about? Exactly how much more time do people really think remains before the season is toast? They've got about 10 days left , I hardly think anyone should be surprised that they're going to start talking again 3 or 4 days from now.

I feel the same. Anyone who sides with either the PA or Owners at this point needs a reality check. I started on owners but now they are jsut both the enemies to me at this point. I want a deal for my birthday which is actually on January 15th.

Oh, I'm sorry that the team I root for is more worried about winning games than being on the back page of the paper and ends up being the media circus of NY for the wrong reasons.

Yeah, because Jets fans have control over all that stuff and totally told the team to operate in that manner. Just like all the Yankees, Cowboys, Celtics, Canadiens, etc fans totally deserve credit for all the winning, losing, and mishaps that have happened over the course of their teams' histories.

look. i'd love the season to start in jan and the rangers win a cup. that said, this season is pretty marred. a cup this year would be just a little less exciting than one in a full season. i'm sure this comment sounds dumb, but for me it's the truth. i have a bad taste in my mouth from this whole debacle. it's like getting an expensive gift from someone you know can't afford it; and they got it for you cuz you were asking for it for a long time.

It's funny, this is actually the most optimistic I've been this entire time. Are Bettman and Fehr really dumb enough to ruin the league? I can't believe that. We finally have our assumed "drop dead date." Get in the room on the 26th, and knock this ****er out, give me a 48 game year starting on the 14th.

The script says last minute deal. The 48 game season is important to Bettman. For David Stern,playing on Christmas day was the NBA deadline. The NBA has 5 games on TV tomorrow. FIVE. They had four last year. Some issues such as the Olympics and realignment will be handled outside the CBA talks. The issues which divide them are basically compromising and splitting the diiference. The NHL makes gains in every area.

NFL is my 2nd sport and im a big Giants fan, but im not pissed when they lose like I am with the Rangers. Im a casual Knicks fan, but big NBA fan, and im not really into baseball.

My heart/passion is with the Rangers.

At this point, it's 48 or nothing. I don't want anything less. Now, I don't really care for a lost season. It's gotten to the point where i've just accepted these sides are all about egos and nothing will happen until a deadline is set, if at all. I'll be back next season, though.

Ok you can stop putting words in my mouth now, or you can keep doing so in an attempt to divert focus away from the point I'm making. The point is that they root for a losing team. Is that my problem that they're mad at their teams for being terrible? I don't shove it in anyone's face, so don't shove it in mine.

Thanks for doing the research. Ok so that doesn't sound like much. However, him skating with rangers players could make him feel more comfortable and he ends up staying here.

I'd take Kovalev back at under a million to play the 3rd line. Gives the team a bit more depth on the powerplay at the very least. On the other hand, Torts has chased players that floated less out of town.

The only thing is that maybe by skating with the rangers players he could adopt their mentality...i don't know. I just know I wouldn't mind him on the bottom lines on the cheap.
