Frolik scores. First time I've heard him this period.

Anyone watching this game? Does the USA deserve all these penalties or is it home country fever?

Well to be fair, take away the 25 minutes to Johnson and it's 14 mins to 12 mins in penalties. Who knows if all of them were legitimate calls. My guess is....probably not.

Well, I was actually referring to the Johnson call as well, as Phil Housley has actually been on the Czech player, #21, who Johnson hit, for more than "diving."

Kessel scores to give the Americans a 4 - 3 lead with 2:20 left....

Boy Wonder comes through in the clutch! God I wish I was watching this.

Oh, yes, well like I suggested above, I didn't see the hit so I don't know if it was a good call or what. There was no Match assessed, so maybe it was just a high elbow without intent or something. Who knows. I was more just saying that the number of powerplays has been virtually equal, as someone suggested otherwise.

Kessel is one big-time player. The U.S. is going to be tough to beat with him in the lineup.

Team USA wins!

Does Jack Johnson get suspended for one game or no?

I don't think so, no - as there was no match penalty assessed (as far as I know), which is the ref's discretion. Game Misconduct could go to auto-review under this tournament's particular rules, but I don't think so.

USA and Canada is ready for the semifinals.

while:

Sweden - Slovakia
Chechz - Russia

plays quarterfinals. If im not mistaken?

Will TSN be showing these two games on Thursday...I see they're down for 2 games, but doesn't go into detail of saying which ones.

TSN will show both Q-Finals Thursday and both S-Finals Friday.

You're welcome...
TSN is doing all it can to at least the most amateur games they can. (ie. U-18, University Cup, RBC, Telus Cup, etc.)

BTW Gord - why don't you head out to the good west country here and do the PBP of the finals of the Royal Bank Cup along with Pierre? I know the RBC this year is going to be a good party - the city of Weyburn is an excellent choice as hosts.

I can only be one place at a time...I'll be here in Europe until May 16th. Besides, Bob McKenzie's son is still alive in the Jr. A playoffs in Ontario, so I would have to recuse myself!

I'll be back home in the west for a month this summer though...

Canada is getting better each game , their penalty kill is very well organized. I think teams will either have to play a simpler game against them on the PP like getting pucks through and putting numbers in front. Playing the umbrella and not taking one timers is a waste of time against the organized Canadians. The only thing more annoying than the officiating in this tournament is Glenn Healy. Very quick to tear the team to pieces and gave them no credit for what really was an exceptionally well played game against Denmark. They were completely dominant for most of this game today as well. I am comfortable with Price or Pelletier so it should not matter. The choice of players is proving to be very good, lots of character and hard work. Blueliners are big and mobile. They have seen plenty of the calls made against them now and to win this tournament they will have to avoid the penalties 100 to 180 feet from their net. The USA and Czechs should be fairly formidable.

thats if they can keep it up. they've only played good for 2 games, so hopfully they will continue.

Btw Gord, your doing a great covering the play by play, keep up the good work same with pierre.

I couldn't watch the game but I saw the highlights. Wow, think the scouting report on Price is 'shoot high'? He's always going down early and he'll get burnt big time by good shooters.

it's been said... but at least he has a glove hand and makes some sweet gloves saves, otherwise he'd be knee deep in crap.

Glenn Healy bibble babble has people thinking that any high shot is going in. The first goal from Zubov was a rocket that would go in on most anyone. Goal #2 was on the ice , he had no chance. Goal #3 is a very tough outside- in with a chip upstairs which many goalies get beat by. This shot was up under the bar . He may be dropping to the ice a little early and may be off a little but seems as good as anyone in this tourney although we have not seen the other group yet. As i said earlier i have no problem with Pelletier in net but Price will be fine if he's the guy. Healy is grasping at straws i'll leave it at that and that goes for most any segment he chooses to analyse between periods . I did not have high expectations going into this tourney and i'm pleasantly surprised.

Hey How about those wonderful Dmen from the WHL..er..I mean the QMJHL. Bravo Q. Bourdon,Letang and Gragnani look excellent. :handclap:

Actually all the Canadian Dmen look Great a very strong group of 7. They really played a strong solid game against the Russians keeping them to the outside for most of the night :handclap:

Here's hoping for a Canada/US final!

You are in an advanced stage of the sore loser syndrom, get medical help as quick as possible

You may hate Macguire but there is one thing i hope he accomplishes before all is said and done and that has to do with his constant harping about the offiiating that still goes on in these tournaments over there. It's terrible, over 30 years of this stuff.....call a straight game guys.......your bias against certain teams and toleration/rewarding of diving is crazy. It's 2005,time to get with it and let it go euro zebra's.Will it ever end? Read the rule book and stop biting on dives.Same old story today as always...a never ending parade to the box for Canada over dives and bogus calls mostly centered on nice legal physica play.As a fan You keep thinking it will finally stop over there but then comes the next tourney and nothing changes. Terrible for hockey.

It has one saving grace....it gives us ample opportuinity always to practice our p.k.
