The problem is not him being on the 4th line, IMO. The problem is that McLeod and Lettieri are also on the 4th line, Lettieri in particular has done nothing to warrant being in the NHL.

This is all it is. I have no problem breaking kids in on the fourth line. However the caveat is they play with nhl players. Not vin Lettieri

Lias will be fine, I’ve seen him extend several plays in the offensive zone only for Lettieri and McLeod to piss it away. He’ll be in the top-9 soon enough.

Sam was mentioning the achievements of McLeod and Lettieri during the game and all I heard was ".... is having a good game. He had this many hits in the 1st period"

I really like this team. I know it's in transition, so I don't get too attached. Every vet should be available at the right price, and every phone call listened to. This should all be about establishing culture and core.

The look on Hank's face after the game ended may have been one of the happiest I've ever seen from him. You don't fake that.

Pionk is something else. He reminds me of that line in dumb and dumber.
"Just when I don't think you could do anything stupider, you go and do this...
and TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF!"

The LA game was 10 games into the season with a good amount of rookies and a new coach and new system. So what that they had SO wins. Who cares? They won those games. Right now after 20 games there are only 10 or 11 teams with more points than the Rangers. They are better than many people thought they would be.
Or the league is significantly worse than we thought? Naaah. Losing some games means nothing to teams that KNOW they will make PO's. We are doing well, but very much overachieving and playing the "same way" will not suffice against the "better teams" when they set their minds to it. This is what probably Machinehead and go away Staal have been saying. They're probably right, just abusive to the team they support. Theyre mis-understood, lol.

It would truly be painful to trade Kreider even if according to some his trade value could be at its highest right now.
The one player that this org. has truly nurtured and developed and might just be morphing into what everyone predicted that someday he "could be" and NOW we are going to trade him? Lol. He has grown up right in front of our eyes and has done some hockey skill things (probably from coaching) and has matured as a player. The league knows how good he's become......and we would get a fortune......but, I would wait. Hes going to be MORE productive raising his value AND we actually do need him as one of our future CORE leaders. Not many similar to Kreids, we all know that.

Thanks Deepak Chopra.

Read my actual comments on the game.

Yeah feel free to pretend this isn't true.

Nice insinuating that I celebrate player injuries last time while conveniently ignoring me when I asked you to specify what you were refering to btw.

I think it's time Vinni Boom Batts heads to Hartford. I don't know if any of you listened to the radio call last night but I was forced to because I was stuck in stupid traffic on my way to the bar to watch the game. Dave Maloney just kept saying "dumb". A dumb penalty in the neutral zone. Of course Florida scored on the ensuing PP. Vinni has done nothing to warrant staying up in the NHL unfortunately.
It was a totally braindead play. Smith chipped it up high into the neutral zone, and even though Smith made a dumb play too, Lettieri bodies Mackenzie Weegar to open up space for himself at the end of the neutral zone.

I happen to like Vinni, but he needs to go back to the AHL and get his scoring going this season. He was great last year with 20+ in 55 games, but it hasn't translated at all this season. Hartford could use another solid 4A player to round out their lineup too.

People also said teams like Buffalo, Montreal, the Islanders, Vancouver and Ottawa were going to suck, and that hasn't been the case. To be honest, it's very hard getting a read on the league in general. Pittsburgh and Washington are not where people expected them to be. The Pacific is a dumpster fire. Only Nashville, TB and Toronto are living up to their expectations.

I wouldn’t be so sure it’s coincidence and not causation. Quinn might just look smart regarding Chytil. He had him with hamfisted AHL level players until he stepped in on that one PP and looked great a few games back. Then Buch got hurt and he’s playing with top 6 talent and scoring.

This is closer Tom Brady filling in for Drew Bledsoe than brilliant coaching. BTW I like Quinn a lot so far but this seems more like luck than strategy.
Yes, in the way it happened, yes. But he has been saying he wanted to give him more time. And like the old saying goes "next man up" thing is......we have never had that kind of luck, depth or someone good enough to take advantage of more playing time.
The proof is in the pudding. Even with lesser linemates he made things happen because of his individual hustle and talent, just nerves set him back a bit. Made his own chances regardless of linemates. Imo, the type of player that makes players around him BETTER......jury is out on that yet, but i assume we will see.
Yeah surely remember Bledsoe thing. FB. FP.

It isn't true. I'd rather see the team play well when they win rather than having to rely on Hank, lucky bounces or a shootout.

It's important to look at all the variables when making evaluations. They collectively have not played well this season, well below what their record says.

And since you asked.

Post-Game Talk: - Toronto Maple Leafs at New York Rangers - February 1

This was after he was concussed against Toronto

Perhaps you should attempt to understand context. Read my second sentence. The smiley is because I was frustrated with his injury.

Just like you manage to be a negative nancy in that very same comment.

Once Lundqvist said he's "all in", no matter what, everyone should know he's not going to let this team be bottom 3. We all know him better than that.
True words. Thing is, as this season grinds along, Hank grinds along......hes the toughest, yet he is still human. I said it off season, that I had a premonition that Hank would mid-season go down for the rest.....and that would catapult the tanking. Of course dont wish to be right......but either way, Hank will not be able to withstand the losses coming, if he doesnt have the proper troops. The eventual falling out will be at least 3 vets moving on in their careers. The non-vets that may go as "extras" to provoke a really good trade may be Namestnikov OR Vesey.....not both.

Pittsburgh is going to win Hughes and then I will promptly make my way to 7th Ave and lay down in the street outside MSG and wait for sweet release to take me
And i will be there right beside you. The Pens bottom out, nearly lose their fand and franchise, get generational talent, win cups, and then do it over again. I HATE that org. and wish that Lemieux would have become a lawyer instead of saving them.

The rangers have too much talent, too good a goalie, and no longer have av almost actively trying to lose games for us.

They're not a great team
.but they're not a trash heap either.

I stand by my assertion that the single biggest add this team made was simply subtracting vigneault.

I've said it for years and years now....he's a bottom 5 coach in the nhl.

But neither are many of the teams that you said the Rangers were better than. Also, do you realize that the Rangers are tied for the fewest ROWs in the conference?

we've played much better than anyone should have expected but we trade away a few guys and lundqvist stops playing amazing and we could very quickly become a dumpster fire

If Hank stops being Hank we become a dumpster fire period right now. We've won games we have no business winning. Not that I am mad, I still like seeing wins and ballsy play by the team under Quinn. But some of the games we've been in have been pretty one sided.

If this team was the 1970s Montreal Canadiens dynasty level the Hank fans would STILL say this. I'm sick of it!! EVERY GOALTENDER MAKES SAVES FOR THE TEAMS THEY PLAY FOR!! It is what they get paid to do.
