Yes we won @ReggieDunlop68 , but I use stats when I`m in doubt about the overall team performance, and consider stats we should win vs Islanders, but in this game Florida was the dominant team in the majority of the game. However I don`t understand how he use Lias who was drafted 7th in 1st rnd in 2017 draft and arrived from Wolfpack hot with 12 pts. He is not Chytil so I question Quinn how he use Lias recently consider ice time and on the energy 4th line.

Lettieri & Mcleod still have 0 pts. in 14 games.

The situation is still the same. 7 minutes a game with a goon and an AHL player isn't going to help his development.

I get it. It just seems that Quinn’s vision with new players that are not contributing too much, is to give them a reduced role with less responsibility.

In his mind he may view it as giving them the best seat in the house to watch and learn from a sheltered role.

Chytil was playing very well despite playing with McLeod and Lettieri.

Andersson is not. Not to say he's been bad, but he hasn't quite played at the same level Chytil was in the same role.

Yes, they are different playstyles, but if one player looks pretty good and the other doesn't in the same role...makes you think.

And no, this isn't really hurting their development nearly as much as you might think it is.

I agree with this, which is why Lias should probably be playing big minutes in the Ahl instead of playing with Mclord and Letteri

I mean, that also comes with the view that perhaps the AHL really doesn't have anything for Lias and he is better suited for the NHL, even in a limited role like the one he's in.

Would you rather a player be in a situation he's too good for, or one where he's on the entry floor for being ready?

:dunno:

Lots of ways you can take it.

No they can't.

This team's record is much better than the actual performance.

Some of ya'll are gonna be finding the tallest building to jump off of in a few weeks when things start to fall apart.

You've been saying this for 20 games now. You are what your record says you are. This is a better team then you give them credit for. I still don't think they will not make the playoffs and will sell at TDL but they aren't a horrible bottom 3 team either.

I'll second this. Were Howden not doing so well in his role I'd offer it to Andersson, but for now, let Lias have an Anisimov-esque great AHL season. No call for a rush.

They were in last place in the league after the LA game.

A few shoot out wins, fortunate bounces with some actual solid performances mixed (Montreal, tonight) in doesn't really change much.

They're getting some contributions from players who you want them to get contributions from, but collectively they haven't played all that well. The numbers pretty much bare that out and no, you aren't always what your record says you are. Thats true at the end of the season, but we're not even close to that point yet.

Lias had a great start in the A, but I believe there are still things he can learn down there. I think it would be beneficial for Lias to be down there until around the tdl when we start moving guys out and give him a fairly decent role (top 9-minutes) then playing him these extremely sheltered minutes with two of the worst players in the nhl

Lias rookie in rebuild. several our rookie do good. do better after low minute. 6 minute NHL>>20 minutes Hartford.

Why are you talking like that? Also I gotta disagree there, playing big minutes in Hartford is currently better for his development then sheltered minutes in the ahl

Chytil, seems to have been brought along slowly, perfectly by this coaching staff. He was confused and losing confidence, they gave him some time to catch his breath, he did. Now hes got a few extra weeks of experience and practice and is putting it to use. I'm loving quinn

The guy knows how to manage his players. I’m a big fan of his policy of scratching the poorest performers or under performers. Introduces accountability — which this team desperately needed.

I think we did well initially under AV because we had some great habits from Torts — but were just tired of Torts personally — so the first few years were cathartic. Then, the time started to forget those habits, and the wheels fell off the bus.

Quinn is introducing good habits.

The LA game was 10 games into the season with a good amount of rookies and a new coach and new system. So what that they had SO wins. Who cares? They won those games. Right now after 20 games there are only 10 or 11 teams with more points than the Rangers. They are better than many people thought they would be.

I wonder if the reason he's not scratching Staal is because he doesn't think he has it in him to play better even if he does.

I think Staal is a case of respect. He was, albeit seemingly ages ago, a great player for us and has been here for so long. I wouldn’t be surprised, however, if he’s had a few talks with him behind closed doors.

Dave Malony had similar thoughts as you @SnowblindNYR . It`s an exciting time for him as a player so I hope he continue his hot streak, but it`s hard to predict Kreider`s production next year in mid April. :)

Dude, do you have money riding on them sucking or something? Why are you so gung ho to shit on this team?
