Don’t know if this will be a factor but Henrique was on that Devils team that forced Game 6 against the Kings down 3-0 in 2012. For those who don’t remember, they got blown out in that game due to a costly major penalty in the first period, putting them in a hole that they couldn’t climb out of.

Hope he reminds the boys that no matter how much momentum you think you have, when you’re trying to do the impossible, the margin for error is so thin and it can slip away from you so fast. Granted, they were on the road that game and we’re going to be at home with the best crowd in the NHL behind us, so it’s a bit different. But it’s crucial that we keep our trend of starting fast and getting that first goal, keep Florida on the back foot. Not giving them any gifts or momentum boosts like last night.

We have the momentum, let’s keep it that way

Like. Good point, Oilers will need to stay smart and composed to finish this out.

Hallmark productions are shot quickly and cheaply like two weeks to maybe a month. Majority shot in Vancouver Lower Mainland and Toronto. Leon's girlfriend is very pretty but this is not a super lucrative profession for the overwhelming majority of working actors. She doesn't need to be in LA which is fiercely competition to do the work she has been doing. Now I guess some door opening help via LA Kings ownership relationships might be an incentive it would be a stretch for Draisaitl to explore LA as a door opener for his GF's career.

Oil can offer more term and will open the vault for generational wealth. His partner can audition from anywhere and is mobile to go wherever productions might base.

It doesn't bode well that I've seen like hundreds of these things with the wife (not exaggerating) and I have no idea who this is.

Another reason having him will payoff. That kind of experience to look back on is invaluable at this time of year.

Hope the Oilers aren't basking in their press clippings today...

Friday is going to be a war.
The pressure is on.
One encouraging clip I read was that McDavid said all it earned was another day. That's the mentality you need -- don't look ahead, don't look past what earned you these two hard fought victories. Nose to the grindstone, and don't take anything for granted here. It ends if they do so they had better be ready and prepared to fight for it tomorrow.

Anyone remember this guy from 2006? Game 3 of the conference finals.

Looks exactly like Barbie on the Panthers.

If I’m not mistaken, Katz still owns Silver pictures so I’m sure he could get her connected with some projects if this was a big selling point for Leon which I doubt it is.

I would be absolutely shocked if either Leon or Connor left. The money wont be an issue, team competitiveness won’t be an issue, the two of them pretty much get what they want here. The only thing is Edmonton can’t offer the lifestyle of some other cities.

At the end of the day superstars like them can force their way out whenever they want so signing a long term deal doesn’t necessarily mean you’re tied to that place for the whole term. I’m sure there will be an understanding between the franchise and both of them that we’re going to sign you guys max term to keep the AAV down but in 4-5 years if you want to be traded we will do our best to accomodate.

Edmonton gets to extend their window and if it comes to it and they have to look at trading either or both of these guys 4-5 years down the road they’ll still get a real good haul.

I have a good feeling that McDavid will be an Oiler for life. Draisaitl probably signs for 4-5 years and then leaves once our competitive window is done

Agree on all. Though not sure there would be a stated understanding or discussion about an exit plan after 4-5 years. Both will get full no move contracts to give them full control over their careers. They could simply choose to sign shorter deals.

Katz sold his Pharma empire to pivot into a sports & entertainment conglomerate. Sounds like Silver Pictures has been a bit of a boondoggle. Joel Silver and Daryl Katz Settle Dispute Over Silver Pictures . The acting thing is really a non-factor.

I fully expect Draisaitl and McDavid to re-sign.

You want to split up that Janmark, Henrique, Brown line?
Only reason would to switch Brown with Foegele.

McDavid has gone super nova, but I really believe we're going to need something from Draisaitl as well if we're going to win this thing. Here's hoping he can find that.
Draisaitl is getting easily directed by the opposing D to usually the right hashmark. They can then attack him cause his feet aren't moving leaving only a pass option. He needs to start moving his feet and occasionally just driving the puck to the net.

Got ripped apart for posting this in the Drai thread, but he's been bad.

Thank god Mcdavid is going super human.
You notice how you get disputed in almost 90% of your opinions?

Stop with the victim mentality.

But you said "That said Drai does take the regular season off and I think those bad habits can hurt him a bit in the playoffs. He has had some bad mistakes."

Drai does not take the regular season off.

No doubt, when his feet aren't moving he is far less effective.

Nuge/Drai hasn't worked this series, Brownie gets a chance with the big guns as he has shown he is built for this. Let's us sub out Ryan and keep amazing center depth, with Mcleod on the wing. Depending how things look, Rico can move up with Kane/Janitor dropping down depending on play.

Foegele has shown us the benefit of having a puck hound on the wing of our stars. Without him, Mcdavid doesn't get his first goal last game. Brownie gives Drai someone like that, Nuge is sneaky, but not quite the same.

Play the bottom 2 lines an equal amount, with the odd Mcdrai shift depending on game situation.
