Quinn can say the move is about getting the almighty McLord on the ice to overpower the Richard Smelhik-less Buffalo Sabres. But he's teaching Names a lesson. You don't show up your boss in front of others. Not in real life and not in sports.

And in b4 Russian bias. Names grew up in America.
And as transparent as Quinn is apparently going to be with the media, I doubt he'd ever say this, which is fine.

Jack Hughes here we come

Also, bet ya Namestnikov is traded within the next 10-15 games

Did I miss something? When did he show up Quinn?

Edmonton would be a really good spot for Namestnikov

I don't see the two as logical partners now. Edmonton has zero cap room and the two players they'd want to get rid of Lucic and Russell I don't think the Rangers have any use for both term wise and salary cap wise.

Unless the trade was RNH for Namestnikov straight up but i just don't see it.

Rangers should be able to foreheck and play a harder game. Also have more time because this isn't Nashville's D.

Very winnable game.

If Middlestadt scores his first tonight this board is going to be inoperative for a week.

It's fine that McLeod is playing with Howden this game. It's game 2 not game 17 not game 27.

I think the Rangers should run a graphic before every broadcast or at the very least Loefen should have like a Parental Advisory in the game thread about line combinations on a game to game basis.

Now that's some good old-fashioned rhetoric.

"It's not about Namestnikov. I just had to decide which of our 12 forwards was worst; and it was him."

Meh, I dunno. McLeod really did by most accounts have a good preseason. I have no issue with establishing a rotation in the bottom 6. I agree with everyone that Staal should be benched as well.

You gotta love Quinn's intensity. He is just starting his career in the NHL and probably doesn't realize what a marathon an NHL season is and hopefully he doesn't go full Torts on us.. Name's played disinterested in the first game. Staal was atrocious and it will be interesting to see if he applies the same standard to Staal that he did to Names. We have very little offensive skill up front and so scoring will be tough to come by. If you can get a 3rd from the Oilers for Names take it and smile.

McLeod's performance aside, somebody had to get scratched. Quinn wouldn't be scratching Names if he never thought he deserved it.

When Beleskey gets healthy is when the real bottom six competition starts in my mind. McLeod is probably not going to grab onto a spot and not let go: Beleskey may.

This is Jimmy Vesey's redemption tour. Preds then Sabres. Hell of a game last game. Hopefully he can bring that f*** your "f*** vesey" attitude around as well. get him off to a hot start.

Vlad is being scratched to send a message. Quinn knows his job is to cultivate young talent. No way he's stupid enough to think McLeod is a better option or player than Vlad. Even if McLeod scores a gordie howe every night from now on, someone else will get scratched for Vlad within 2 games.
