Debateable. And hockey isn’t just about talent, I think the last thing you want on a young rebuilding team is a JT Miller in the lockerroom

You think namestnikov with his attitude is the better option in the room? That temper tantrum on opening night for a new coach was an embarrassment. Only thing worse has been his effort since coming here.

Before we traded for Namestnikov, I thought he was the biggest passenger in the league.

He's done nothing to change my mind. No harm in trying to light a fire under him.

I just wish Beleskey was healthy and could step into the lineup instead. He looked very good in PS.

Word for word spot on would love to see Beleskey next to Howden and Lettieri.

I missed the temper tantrum but what happened? Wasn’t it just he sorta rolled his eyes when he was asked to serve the too many men penalty? If that happened to Bozo he’d be foaming at the mouth and throwing water bottles.

Eye roll arms up head shaking when he got told to go serve the too many men call. totally unprofessional and more than anything it added to what he’s done since coming here. He’s been a dog. And now he’s got an attitude to go along with it.

Namestnikov is a nobody who road the coattails of elite players to have a career year. The sooner he's off this team, the better.

To be fair it was a bonehead penalty to take, I’m sure a lot of players would’ve been pissed off lol. Don’t you remember Bozo’s temper tantrums? I remember one of his last games as a Ranger he took a stupid penalty and got mad about it, in the bench he started banging on the glass and going nuts; as soon as the penalty ended he skated out of the box and tripped a guy who didn’t even have the puck because he was mad and got sent right back to the box. Another time he was mad at AV and when they dumped it into our zone he was the first player to the puck and he just stopped and let the other teams player take it then he skated back to the bench while in the defensive zone, when he got to the bench he harpooned his stick over the boards behind our bench. He is a MADMAN

Wow, you are insanely biased against Miller.

These situations are so different. Quinn is a brand new coach. AV had been treating Miller like shit for years, even though he was our most productive offensive player for his last 2 seasons. AV was far more at fault for that relationship than Miller.

Namestnikov really pissed me off with his attitude during the TMM penalty. This is a young, rebuilding team. That is not the kind of attitude you show in front of guys who are learning in the league. Moreover, if you want to stay in the good graces of a brand new coach, you sure as hell don't act that way.

My guess on VN is that he feels some sense of entitlement since he was playing on arguably the best line in the NHL last year, then got traded to a bottom feeding team and stuck on the 4th line. What he fails to understand is I could probably produce well on a line with Kucherov and Stamkos. But in NY, there are no players even remotely comparable to that level and without them, VN is not a top line player.

I was pretty disappointed the team even bothered re-signing him. But my guess is JG sees him having some more value as deadline acquisition. If that's the case, I can get behind it.

FWIW I would also bench VN after that display, even though I think McLeod is a steaming pile of garbage.

I just wanted no part of the contract Miller was going to get. Keep in mind Yzerman/Florida tax discount is good for at least $1 million, so we were looking at over $6 million for Miller. Good player but nowhere near worth that.

Hopefully we can get at least a 2nd for Namestnikov when the time comes.

We simply got hosed by Yzerman. For a second the trade looked better because of what the Sens got for Karlsson.

It will be really telling if McDonagh gets back to his 2012-14 Norris Mac f***ing truck form with a full season in the Tampa system and the AV stench off of him.

Then I'm going to be really pissed with Gorton for nuking the roster instead of firing AV first. Or firing AV after the Ottawa debacle period.

What a joke is is that we lost to that JV franchise. That will be Vigneualt's lasting legacy.

Everyone on the team was pissed off in that moment. I really didn't think it was a Namestnikov thing.

Quinn can say the move is about getting the almighty McLord on the ice to overpower the Richard Smelhik-less Buffalo Sabres. But he's teaching Names a lesson. You don't show up your boss in front of others. Not in real life and not in sports.

And in b4 Russian bias. Names grew up in America.

Going into Buffalo, early season. Where's Stepan when you need him? All kidding aside, a good game against a lesser defensive team. So hopefully we can work on some cycling, and put some consistent pressure on Hutton. Didnt he shut us out in a stellar performance last year? Or was it the year before? Jeez, my memory. Help me please, somebody help me!

With that said, I'm gonna call a Howden goal, Vesey with another good game and pots one (finally) , Hayes with 2 helpers, and hell I think Vinny will get one.

AV and Lundqvist together blew that Ottawa series. AV had Skjei and Smith playing lights out hockey and continued to ride staal and holden. And Hank couldn’t stop a hula hoop.

He should have been fired for sure for that loss.

Having said that we did the right thing at this deadline. But we didn’t do enough. That’s more my issue. Spooner namestnikov Hayes Vesey Zucc should not all still be here. Some should have been moved by now.

It's possible I read the body language incorrectly (these things are impossible to interpret via TV). That being said, I did feel his anger was more reactive towards having to serve the minor than towards the boneheaded mistake. But again, I can't know either way.

Regardless, I still haven't been pleased with his play or effort since he arrived. Although, I don't think the plan is for him to be a long-term piece anyway so it doesn't really matter.
