Now everyone feels old. Thanks!

edit - Why does Machinehead have my blob?

I still think -- regardless of the outcome -- that the ECF was the best two weeks of hockey this area has ever seen.

The two best teams in the NHL, the proximity, the drama, the stakes, and most importantly, the skill and skating.

People think that because Lemaire trapped, the Devils were a boring team. Not in 1994. That whole series was 200 feet of ice minus a few exceptions.

Anyway, glad to have been around the appreciate it. The OJ thing basically pissed on the Knicks parade nationally, but here in the city, I wanted to punch Starks in the face (after Vernon Maxwell, of course)

Damn... I was in HS then. I remember the whole school stopped and had TVs in the classroom to watch the verdict. I think the whole town heard the school roar when OJ was declared not guilty. Good times and my how things have changed...

Famous date in American pop culture. Domino's reported record pizza delivery sales during the televised OJ Simpson car chase.

The 30 for 30 June 14th 1994 is amazing

It's on Netflix

I just looked through it quickly, it seems like its mostly about OJ Simpson with 3-5 minutes about the Rangers.

The OJ car chase was a couple days later, I believe....during game 5 of the NBA finals.

The documentary is June 17th, 1994.

The OJ chase, the Rangers ticker tape parade.Knicks/Rockets Game 5, Arnold Palmer's final round at the US Open, and the start of the World Cup.

Good watch. Interesting there's no retrospective interviews. Might not even have a narrator either, if I remember correctly. The movie is all put together by news/tv footage.

Who would have thought that it would take at least 20 years for the next one...although I had an inkling when they traded Zubov...

It was the best hockey I've ever seen. Nothings come even close, actually.

That 1994 playoffs probably created more hockey fans around here than anything ever, especially the ECF.

Even Gretzky.

And the NHL took that new found fanbase and interest and essentially flushed it down the toilet with the lockout.

I still pull out the DVDs every summer to watch games from Devils and Canucks series and the end of season special narrated by Marv Albert. Just great hockey and satisfies my hockey fix.

What a month.

Rangers win the cup.

OJ.

Starks 0-3000 from the field and the Knicks losing in 7.

US beating Colombia and Ireland beating Italy and both advancing to the Round of 16.

Doc Gooden gets suspended for being a crackhead.

In some ways its amazing 19 years has passed. In others it feels like a lifetime ago.

Don't foget the own goal by Andres Escobar, leading up to him being executed in his home-town
