What this team needs is a top 2 pick (or two). Teams that win the cup have a few (Crosby, Malkin Fleury, Whitney, Staal E & J, Doughty, Kane, Toews) In fact, Let's look all of the Cup winners since the lock-out:

We have one top 5 pick in 20 years (Vanek #5 2003). A great pick, but not enough. A team needs to lose , pick high and pick well or happen to have multiple Hall of Famers on the roster. Otherwise, you will not win.

So what you're saying is, Ruff is the problem because he kept the team from being too bad!

I'm all for trading him to be honest. I love the guy and think he's a great goalie, but this team needs so many parts and pieces until they're legit contenders, and trading him would go a long way towards acquiring them.

I suspect she was referring to those rooting for Buffalo to lose - but it could just have been directed towards booing fans :shrug:

There were tons of people who made it sound like Ruff was the only problem with this team before he was let go.

I agree it was time for a change - but I suspect a vast majority of the problem lays with the roster rather than the head coach.

Yeah, ya can't fire the players so the best move you can make is to fire the coach.

Frankly, this was good thing for Lindy's health.
