We usually do the winter list after the WJCs to get a good gauge on the top prospects who play in it.
 
I see a potential 1c and a potential franchise goalie.

Chytil is a safer pick with a higher floor
but I'll take the upside of the next Lindqvist.

WJC shouldn't really be depicted as a good gauge for the prospects. It helps, but it doesn't justify the season entirely. Plus, the prospects have been playing for about 2-4 months already. Might as well get their midseason rankings in prior to the storm, you know?

Besides, most of NYR's guys won't be in the WJC anyway.... (4 at most)

FWIW there are lots of guys on there that aren't prospects, like Jensen, Holland, Beleskey, Schneider, Tokarski, etc.
 
Was and still is Chytil. I'm sure Kravtsov can have similar success but for now its Chytil.
K'Andre also someone who could have serious boom potential but hard to compare someone in first year in college with someone who now looks good at the NHL level (and who would probably have at least .66 PPG if he wasn't buried on 4th line but I digress)
