93-20 need someone better to play with. Nothing against Goody but you can tell there's a disconnect. Buch skates better and holds on to the puck and gives 93 and 20 more time.

I like Goodrow a lot but he is definitely out of place on this line

1. Played a pretty damn good game. Much better than the last game vs the Leafs.

2. 3rd line looked really good together again. Would be so huge if that line could produce some secondary scoring.

3. Counted at least 3 "automatic" penalties that went uncalled. Changing rulebook night to night is one of the most frustrating aspects of this league.

By the way we trade for a middle 6 forward we are basically losing Gauthier in that role.

Gallant thought it was a good game. "Someone had to lose" this game. "We play like that, we're gonna win a lot of games."

But I believe HFNYR's takes more.

If Gallant was a real winner he’d grill Mika a big fat steak before every game and have it waiting for him in the locker room. Our little secret, Z. Irma doesn’t have to know.

Gallant doesn't seem too concerned in the post game presser. Mollie tries to dig at the face-off woes, but Turk brushes it off as just an off night. Hank compliments his comportment saying the guys in the room must love that he never overreacts and it trickles down to the boys. Valiquette senses that he seems envious and asks him "How many coaches like that did you play for?!" Hank struggles to name one....

I wouldn't say Laf and Zibanejad look better together than they do apart from each other. Do people really have nostalgia for that line?

Pretty even through the first two periods. Sheer domination for the 3rd and Campbell stole it. Im normally not a "blame the refs guy" but there were at least 3 instances where they swallowed the whistles while Leafs players were hanging all over the Rangers, none more egregious than Muzzin on Fox.

Gallant has no idea what to do with the Kreider/Zibanejad line, but its been obvious for weeks that they dont need a grinder up there. Lafreniere & Goodrow should be swapped.

Moral victories suck but the team looks good and if they had an extra minute to play they probably win.

If the rangers are targeting a middle six forward it needs to be one in the mold of a garland or magiapane.

Strome with no explanation for the faceoff woes. He says they work extremely hard at them but he couldn’t diagnose why they got dominated so badly.

I suppose it’s good that they know that this is a problem that needs to be fixed. Wish they had some ideas on how to fix it.

Muezzin taking his hand off his tick, grabbing Fox's jersey and pulling him down in the slot as he's trying to get to a puck is an automatic penalty 100% of the time. Them not calling that was ludicrous.

Muzzin always annoys me from the 2014 Final in game 2 the PP the Kings scored the tying goal on was awarded to them from a play where Muzzin stuck out his knee on Zuccarello and tripped him but Muzzin flung himself and Zuccarello ended up getting the penalty. I was beside myself.

This is the first game I feel like in a while where I'm not mad about the result. Am I disappointed? Absolutely. But we played really well against one of the best teams in the league in their house. We had some really good chances and the refs swallowed their whistles when they shouldn't have. Panarin and Mika continue to look like crap, but other players have lifted them up.

I still don't understand Strome. He's a nothing player, but Panarin can't play without him apparently.

That felt like playoff hockey, and a series we could win.

Yeah, they have to try it again with Lafreniere on Mika's line. The problem is that Strome's line and Chytil's lines both look good right now so I don't think Gallant wants to break them up. But Mika's line is basically useless 5v5 with Goodrow, who I love but he's not a fit there. Mika needs someone who is better with the puck on his stick to compliment him, not another grinder - Kreider is basically the grinder on that line. Mika worked best with Buchnevich and Zuccarello on his right side.

correct which means the hair on fire line of thinking from the media that we don’t have depth when the guy that replaces Blais has probably been our best player in the two games is bogus.

the issue is playing Goodrow on the top line makes zero sense
