You can’t get back in that game with the refs swallowing the whistles.

we played well
Yeah, I think this is what it breaks down to for tonight. We had one rough stretch in the second, but kept this game pretty even otherwise. Toronto got away with some pretty obvious penalties in the third, but. Campbell also made some really solid saves.

Tonight was a tough loss, but it's hard to be disappointed with how the team played. They're building on their structure which is way more important now for how we're gonna be playing in February when it really becomes a grind.

Lafreniere was terrible tonight.

Overall, they battled. Toronto is a good team no matter how much you want to let their past 1st round failures influence your thinking, this year’s team is very good. They rounded out the team more.

This was a competitive game and they were in it until the end. Yes Igor made some big saves, but so did Campbell. It goes both ways. I dont think the top 6 had a good game by any means, but they competed.
Every night***

I’m tired of him.

Panarin had 4 shots, second most on the team in this game, he passed up like 2 shots and made passes, and he had a breakaway and almost scored, he had a good game. This team would be so much worse if he were not on the ice, you should be grateful he is on this team and leave him the hell alone, who the hell are you?

93-20 need someone better to play with. Nothing against Goody but you can tell there's a disconnect. Buch skates better and holds on to the puck and gives 93 and 20 more time.

Eh, they played a pretty good game on the road against a tough team. Came up a little short. I felt like there were several calls there late where the refs put the whistles in their pockets. Some over-passing as well but not much new there.

Anyway, not the result you want but not one to lose sleep over.

This is the top 6. The bed's been made, gotta sleep in it. They're not heavy. They don't play heavy. They rely on east-west and deception. They're never going to force it down the other side's throat. Have to expect them to be "quiet" in tight games like these.

You know how Sidney Crosby can turn any scrub into a scorer on his line? That’s what 1Cs do.

I’ve been a huge Mika supporter but he’s simply not been good enough.

The team played well tonight overall. This was a good loss. Night and day from the last game they played against this team and happened to win.
Maybe you're right. Time will tell.

KAM had an absolute stellar game. Played like a true a complete #1 stud

Chytil line did not get nearly enough time when they were the only ones skating imo.

Besides them, this is what happens when you sleep through the 1st 2 periods and your '1C' is playing like a vegan. Spare me his 'point total'. He's the same player as 'long haul covid' Zibs. Big problem for the team.

Panarin back to his 'over passing'. Was nice while it lasted. Why though? It's infuriating.

Shesty hasn't been 'sharp' since he came off for concussion protocol. Fox has been 'off'. ( our two best players so far ) Seeing eye floater is the difference in the game. He normally stops the 2nd goal against as well.

Nemeth and Lundkvist needs to change.

Goodrow in the top6 should be over.

We lost the game but we're evenly matched. I'm more angry than I should be

agreed.
Goodrow is a very good 3rd line player. Play him on the 3rd line.
Gallant doesn’t trust Nemeth-Lundkvist at all.
Zibby makes a few good plays a game and gets his stats but has yet to put in a solid 60 min effort. Too many shots of wheat grass celebrating his new contract.
They are going to have to make a trade for a wing/center. Blais going down was a big blow.

Not every night. But we do need more from him. He plays physical. But thats not even really what we need from him.

He just looks so deliberate out there. Sorta how Kakko looked in his 1st year
No it is every night. Kakko in his rookie season looked better than LaF has right now. Just idiotic decisions and a lack of talent displayed.

Feels like deja vu waiting for Zibanejad to start scoring some goals. Would be nice to see him go on one of his hot streaks right about now. He's not quite COVID bad this year but he needs to be better.

And though I like what he brings to the team, having an 8-goal scorer like Goodrow as the first line RW is a roster management screw up. And if you say well he's only there because Blais got hurt...Sammy's not much better.
Yea, that's on Drury

Dreger saying NYR are looking for a middle 6 forward. My number 1 target is Hagel. Toffoli is a good option as well

That second line really needs someone that can get in on the forecheck quick. Move Kakko to the Mika line and get Goat on that second line. I would say move up both Chytil and Goat but that's not happening until Strome is traded. We're going on year three of the two duos on the top lines struggling against teams that decide to play defense. Overall, it was a good effort but we're just making the same mistakes we made year after year on the top lines.

i saw the last 3ish minutes of the game. Laf threw a really hard hit at some point during that time period and it was absolutely awesome. i would like to see him do this more.

Oh man, don’t put Zib with him. Imagine Zibanejad and Tofuli on a line.

It would be kind of hilarious is we all pitched in to subscribe Mika to Butcher’s Box.
Toffoli would fit like a glove on the Panarin line. Move Kakko to Mika’s line
