Right. That consistency needs to be there. I don’t know why it isn’t, but he’s certainly proven he’s capable of doing it. I’m not even asking him to do it every game. Even if he plays like this 30-40% of the time, he can definitely break 50-60 points. And you kind of see that reflected on here.
There are times he looks amazing and you say to yourself, “Why in the world would we trade him?”
But I also think there is a tendency to over-project him a little.
He’s not yet shown himself to be that 55-60 point second line center that we sometimes push him toward. That’s not a knock on him per se. But I think we sometimes forget that this is a guy who has cracked 20 goals once and never broken 50 points.
Again, not all about points. But I admit to there being a hesitancy there.
I agree with you that we should keep hayes, but the idea is Lias Chytil or Howden can eventually take over that spot. My problem is I don't get why we cant move anyone to the wing
These last few games have been different though. It seems like he's playing with clarity and high IQ, like he has a clear head, not even joking about that. He's moving too, not floating.Huh, it’s weird. I could’ve sworn someone told us Hayes didn’t try and only got garbage points because he wanted a contract. Weird, it’s almost like we said he’d score when he wasn’t getting used like Brandon Sutter.
I used to think Vally was the type of guy that dumb people think is smart, but I was very wrong. He is a hockey genius.20 miles, 20 smiles. Love Valley, how could you not? He certainly is a homer, but very insightful and boy, does he do his homework. 24/7 hockey. Is he married? I bet not, my gf doesnt even wanna deal with me and i am like only 18/7 hockey. Gotta get some sleep.....right?
Same.
Probably depends on a number of factors. Do the Rangers move both Andersson and Chytil to the wing? Because that’s what happens if you have Zibanejad, Hayes and Howden down the middle.
Even if you start one of Anderson and Chytil as the fourth line center, you can’t really keep them long-term.
If the Rangers pick high in June, it’s hard to pass on some of the centers there as well.
I don’t have a great answer to the situation. There’s a lot of moving parts and at some point it’s going to be the assumption of risk one way or the other.
I would like to maybe see Hayes on the Wing, Ik he wasnt that good the last time he played there but I'm interested to see it with a new chachProbably depends on a number of factors. Will Lias ever develop the skill of Hayes? I haven't seen it yet. I see him as a third line C or a 2nd line wing.
They are both pretty poised, I would say. But Pionk’s poise is more evident in the offensive zone, whereas DeAngelo has poise in all 3 zones.Look at ADA with that poise when he has two players all over him, compared to Pionk when there's nobody within 30 feet of him, panics and passes it to the other team
