Visible shift from Chytil.

Remember when Spooner was almost a point per game player for us last year? Did he have an off-season labotomy?
I dont think i have ever seen any "supposedly talented" player make so many horrific decisions. Cant complete a pass, cant put a shot ON net, let alone score. Something is seriously wrong with him. Think he has Smith syndrome. Big contract, no play. Did he get married or have a baby?

In fairness, Hayes has done this before.

He’s a guy whose swing from comparisons to Joe Thornton to swamp grass depending on the season, game, or even the shift.

When he’s on, everyone falls in love with home all over again.

When he’s off, they turn pretty quickly.

So, in a sense, Hayes is like the personfication of this board.
This is so true. I’ve never been so angry, yet so enamored with one player in such a short amount of time.

Ya, there's always added value that Hayes could have some kind of contract agreement in place or we can get a conditional re-sign pick in there as well. If Hayes keeps it up, he'll be the top prize of the TDL. Two way young 2Cs capable of dominating the ice don't come around often at the TDL.

He could be this year's version of Stastny for Winnipeg if they choose to go that route again at the trade deadline.

And you kind of see that reflected on here.

There are times he looks amazing and you say to yourself, “Why in the world would we trade him?”

But I also think there is a tendency to over-project him a little.

He’s not yet shown himself to be that 55-60 point second line center that we sometimes push him toward. That’s not a knock on him per se. But I think we sometimes forget that this is a guy who has cracked 20 goals once and never broken 50 points.

Again, not all about points. But I admit to there being a hesitancy there.

Go away. Pionk had nothing to do with that goal.
Now, your boy ADA played that 2 on 1 like a stud, huh?
FWIW, I don't blame him on that one, but just pointing out how idiotic your constant ragging on Pionk has gotten.
Jovanowski's ragging on Pionk is really starting to get my goat. Jeez, let it rest already. Pick on Shatty, he was on his knees in the 1st amd didnt see any speed difference whatsoever.

I don’t know why, but right before the tying goal, Lias had a glorious chance from the slot, and misses the net. That one really bothers me.

A: he’s smart enough to be in the right spot.
B: dangerous to miss with that hard of a shot as it could come back as an odd man rush.

Who would we get that would replace Hayes?
JT is killing it playing with good linemates. Put Hayes in between good wingers and he looks even better.
Unless we get a high first or an A prospect, why trade him?

Pionk has proven he can be shifty. He's way too transparent coming out of the zone, telegraphing his passes. Needs to hide his passes better. That pass coming up ice on the PP is just bad, though. You double-pump and then try to make a long pass? That's just bad.
I agree. I love Pionk, and think he can be that much better of a player if he can fix this small, yet very important, aspect of his game. I hope Quinn sees this and does something about it, because Pionk is absolutely capable of doing this.

Huh, it’s weird. I could’ve sworn someone told us Hayes didn’t try and only got garbage points because he wanted a contract. Weird, it’s almost like we said he’d score when he wasn’t getting used like Brandon Sutter.

I agree with you that we should keep hayes, but the idea is Lias Chytil or Howden can eventually take over that spot. My problem is I don't get why we cant move anyone to the wing

Not sure where Anson's reputation as a good analyst came from. His first tour with MSG before he went to NBCSN, I didn't think he was great. Now, he is second to Vally in analysis and not by an insignificant distance.

The question becomes how much do you pay him though, especially with the holes elsewhere and the organization trying to break in no less than 3 youngn centers, maybe a fourth come next year.

That’s part of the challenge for the Rangers.
