I don't think this has been brought up yet. but even if Hockey wasn't a huge sport at Michigan. The fact that he is the 1st round pick of the home town NHL team and that he has gotten a lot of hype this year. I doubt he is small potato's.

With Babcock gone I wonder if we get to see Larkin sooner or better yet, if he get's more chances offensively. Watched a few highlights the other day and his skating is out of this world. The last time we had an elite player that skated like that was Fedorov :amazed:

Athanasiou is no slouch either though.

Yea but is he as good as Larkin defensively?

Combine Larkin's speed, defensive play, and great set of hands and we may have another Fedorov-like player on our hands, though I'm not so sure if Larkin's hands or offensive game will be as good as Sergei's.

Was referring just to skating :) apologies

Its tough to tell considering they are at different levels, but I'd give AA the edge in skating. Might me just because he looks smoother though. We have tons of speed in the system and I'm really excited to see what Blash can do with it.

Either way, our team is going to be fast as **** in the next few years with Larkin, Helm, Anathanasiou, Glendenning, Ferraro, Nyquist, Tatar, Bertuzzi, etc.

Maybe he sees a bit of an opening here playing for Blashill already before heading into camp. I assume he gets to play.

It would be very interesting if Blashill inserts a kid right away with barely any practice time. I would imagine he wouldn't play until game 3 at the earliest.

To be honest I think Larkin is too good not to play. But you're right, its going to be interesting how Blashill handles it.

He did it with Nastasiuk last year I believe and hes nothing special. Larkin on the other hand is returning from the world championships and one of the most dominating freshman years in a long time.

I would be suprised if he missed more than one game practicing, hes going to get some in before the games this weekend. He has so much talent why wouldnt they just throw him on the fourth line at the very least over someone like Campbell?

I'm pumped that hes going pro though I like that decision
