This is called the Gambler's fallacy, for what it's worth.

I know about the gambler's fallacy. It's actually somewhat based on reality, but people don't understand it. If you play the roulette 10 takes, then winning one time in 10 tries is more likely than winning it if you play it only one time, on the first try. However, if you lost 9 times in a row, your chances don't go up on the 10th time (nor go down).

I don't understand why AV like Torts falls in love either with useless players or players playing in roles that they're not good enough for. Seriously, I want to for once ice a team that has all players that should be playing in the NHL, none of this Pyatt and Mashinter garbage. Miller makes mistakes, but he at least has a chance to do something good.

If Miller is playing, he is on the 4th. Boyle has been a lot better than Miller these past few games.

Though now we don't have a center on the 4th:

Hagelin-Richards-Pouliot
Kreider-Stepan-Zuccarello
Boyle-Brassard-Callahan
Pyatt-Mashinter-Dorsett

It would look a lot better with Miller as 4C and one of Pyatt/Mash in the press box.

if you need a #4 center id figure on something along the lines of this :

Hagelin-Richards-Pouliot
Kreider-Stepan-Zuccarello
Pyatt-Brassard-Callahan
Mashinter-Boyle-Dorsett

Mcdonagh - Girardi
Staal - Del Zotto
J.Moore - Stralman

Lundqvist
Talbot

in no way am i advocating pyatt being 3rd line material, however with the disappearance of rick nash via injury, this is what we're left with unless we want half of hartford dressing for us on a nightly basis.

Srs.

Who cares? Foot on throat. No mercy. This gentlemenly sportsmanship crap is so overblown and dumb.

But should a team forget that? Absolutely not. I'm glad that is in the back of AV's mind. It is part of establishing an identity; how you respond to things that happen like that. The Rangers should take that to heart. I hope they beat down the battered Ducks tonight. I hate Boudreau.

Cally's a warrior, Mashinter should sit

agreed 2nite Miller should play in place of Mashinter but they should send Miller down soon. No point in him on the 4th line and Moore should be back next week

Kreider, Stepan, Zuccarello
Hagelin, Richards, Pouliott
Boyle, Brassard, Callahan
Pyatt, Moore, Dorsett
Mashinter

Then pray Nash gets back and things are looking a lot better

Guys, seeing conflicting information out there, but is Frederik Andersen starting for ANA?

If so, ****.

Looks like Andersen is indeed starting for ANA...

From the Ducks forum: Looks like Frederik Andersen in net for #NHLDucks tonight at NYR.

Yay, a backup. Groan.....:shakehead

I am glad that Silfverberg is not playing tonite . He seems to have Hanks no. That's one less goal the ducks are going to score

Boyle-Brassard-Callahan

That could be a very, very effective line. Boyle's game compliments Callahan's so well. They are ideal 3rd line checking forwards. They can physically outwork defenses with size and strength in a cycle game down low. To have a line like that which follows up the 1st and 2nd line that each has a guy of speed to retrieve pucks and create space for passing plays to start in the opposing teams zone, is deadly.

Yeah, but with Boyle on the line they will automatically have no offensive production. Will be a good forechecking line. It's like playing with 2 forwards in the offensive zone.

I doubt cally is 100% cally so fast..

But Miller hasn't produced so far, so I'm willing to take the gamble on this one..

“@KatieStrangESPN: #NYR Vigneault said he isn't completely decided on tonight's scratch but said it will likely be Miller. Miller had tough game vs. CARâ€

Indeed he did. People making too much of this scratch. Sometimes the best thing for a young player is to sit up top and watch a game or two rather than playing bottom six minutes. One game is not a big deal. If he continues to sit and Pyatt continues to suck then it can become an issue.
