He could very good 3rd line depth. Maybe he can slot in the top-6 when needed.
I guess such a move would be coupled with letting someone else go, Shara or Tatar perhaps.

But yeah, if he has potential to be an NHL player, given he is 22 years old, it seems like you should be able to slot him in as a 3rd liner from the get go.

Avangard will repeat or he will play for SKA. He will have a lot of money and after will travel to NA(he told it many times, about path of Kaprisov). He will be more ready after two years, if he will be a part of SKA, there are a lot of good coaches to work on his two way game. Devils will have Luke and Simon on elc in the spring when he will end his deal with khl team.
Everything is looking good for now. And zi will have opportunity to watch his games on the stadium often. I like it too.

His going to SKA for two years might sting because it's two years not one, but the coaching there will only amp up his skillset. I can't see them signing him to have him ride the bench.

Next time you catch up with him ask him if we should go with Gritsyuk or Yukky as his nickname .

Two year extension will make for an interesting NHL negotiation after his ELC is done.

2023-24: KHL
2024-25: KHL
spring 2025: Gritsyuk will be 24 and would have to sign a 1 year ELC. Possibly would have the leverage to have the contract start immediately and get burned in order to be eligible for the remainder of the season/playoffs. Then he'd be RFA summer 2025 but without offer sheet privileges. Alternatively he could sign a 1 year ELC that starts in 2025-26.

He basically will need to step in a be a good player. The 1 year ELC will be him taking less money than he can make in the KHL. Hopefully he can have a Kuzmenko like impact when comes over.
