I dont know how good Reimer or Scrivens is. I would not take Crawford or Emery.

Crawford/Emery are proven in the NHL. Are they great goalies? No. Better than Reimer/Scrivens at this point? - yes. Do I want to win games this season - yes.

That's great. Too bad he still sucks even playing in Chicago, and would probably suck really hard in Toronto.

What do you mean he sucks even playing in Chicago? They play a run and gun style just like the Leafs have the past few years. Other than the Keith and Seabrook pairing, they're a defensively weak team. It's not exactly a team where any goalie can just go and flourish, like Nashville, New Jersey or Phoenix.

Crawford and Emery are mediocre goaltenders, like Reimer and Scrivens at this point. Only difference is Crawford and Emery are four years older than Reimer and Scrivens. Absolutely no point in this swap if it ever happened.

That's not enough for Kessel. Minnesota doesn't make good trade partners, to be honest.

I agree that it's probably best to trade him, though.

What exactly does St. Louis have available that the Leafs would be interested in?

For Kessel you would think you need 2 propects and a pick for a player of his caliber, the fit has to be there of a team that is making a run for it. We are going to have to take back some salary, the question is who wants to go for it now?

We know Minnesota is with the Parise and Suter signings. 2 USA born players, Suter and Kessel are already friends, if Minnesota was offering Granlund and Dumba, that would make me think long and hard. Add a 2nd rd pick and a conditional 1st if they make it to the Conference final and it would be hard not to say yes to that deal.

That would make the price of Seguin, Hamilton, and Knight far more palatable. You can atleast sell it as a saw off.

That's the return I would be insisting on Kessel, anywhere after the trade deadline and his value starts to go down.

Kessel was a good player for us, just the wrong time of where this team is in the rebuild, he is a remnant of the Burke era, a trade that is still an albatross to the organization, may be time to cut ties, and Kessel may agree if we are retooling again.

Still better than Toronto. Chicago also has the offense to bail out the defense or Crawford thus giving him more W's.

Point remains, Crawford is more proven than Reimer is and Emery has proven himself over his "decent" career to be a capable backup at least. I'd love to have either one over here in Toronto over Scrivens. Whether it's in a backup role or as a 1A/1B guy.

I wouldn't be interested in a Reimer - Crawford swap either, but if it was a larger deal where we are also getting a player like Bolland, I would be fine with the goalie switch.

If Minny offered Granlund, Dumba, and a 1st, Nonis would be off his nut to not AT LEAST entertain the idea. If they add a 3rd, it's a done deal.

I am absolutely drooling at the thought of MacIntyre, Orr, Brown, and Fraser in against Boston. Omg I can't wait if true.

Ducks GM Bob Murray calls it "priority" to re-sign Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry. Said he'll meet directly w/both agents soon.

give us bobby ryan plz :)

Just because their proven doesn't mean it's the right choice. In order to prove yourself, you have to be given the opportunity first. Why not give Reimer and Scrivens this opportunity? If you were talking about a goalie like Ward, Lehtonen, Halak, etc. etc. Those solid starters in the NHL, then hell yeah make the swap. But it's not worth it at all considering the difference in talent level between Crawford/Emery and Reimer/Scrivens is really really not that much at all.

He's a year too late, who's got the hand in this negotiation? 64M cap next year, Murray didn't make it easy for himself, hope we are not talking about this next year with Kessel.

Schenn/Couturier + Simmonds + draft pick for Kessel would be the ideal deal for me if I was in charge and looking to move him.

This. Don't even need to win the game. Just don't wanna get bullied by the B's anymore.

Both Mac and Orr can take on Lucic/Chara. Might not necessarily beat them but they would be worthy opponents (from a fighter's standpoint).
