If I'm Nonis I'm looking to dump Lombardi, Connolly, komisarek, steckel. Why do people pencil in komisarek on every line up I have him like 9 on my D depth chart he's terrible.
Young again? What the hell does that mean? Since when were the Leafs old? Weren't they one of the younger NHL teams? These quotes scream of BS.
Didn't the Leafs pick 5th overall with their quality goaltending?
It's going to be getting Aki Berg at the trade deadline all over again. Doesn't AA know hockey?
Great. The Leafs need a goalie. Are they going to draft one? What a load of BS.
Young = more money for the owners. That's what he means. They know people will still go. Hell, they proved that people will go without a cup. Now they just proved people will pay and go without even playoffs.
If we are going to trade 1 of Macarthur or Connolly then I hope we do it before the season starts. It's not the smartest move to start Kadri over them because it will hurt their trade value if they're sitting in the press box.
If the rumour of Burke having a conditional first offered for CMac was true. I still can't believe he didn't do that deal considering the # of candidates we have to replace CMac in the lineup.
Hopefully we still get something nice for him but I bet it won't be as nice as it was.

The big decision for Nonis is Phil Kessel, he can't afford to get into a Bob Murray situation next year with Kessel having leverage in becoming a UFA after next season. If I am Kessel I would be probably weighing my options after seeing how the man that brought me to Toronto was let go. He's not Nonis's boy and there have already been whispers that Nonis balked at the Kessel trade but Burke pulled the trigger anyway.
My guess is Kessel will be traded by this summer rather than Leafs risk losing him for nothing, Nonis can't have Kessel not resign and have Hamilton, Knight, Seguin hanging over this organization's head the next decade. The million dollar question or answer is you bet Kessel is upset that Burke was let go.
Young again
What do you propose they do, oh wise one
i sincerely believe kessel doesnt care

Seems like he was supposed to turn out to something good, what happened?
Imo defence to start the season.
Phaneuf-Gunnarson
Liles-Ranger
Holzer-Komisarek
And then when Gardiner comes back, takes Liles position and Komi moves to Press Box.
Not to mention Kessel's NTC that kicks in next year. Now's the year to trade him if there's any doubt he'd re-up with us for a fair price.
You can bold whatever you want. Nonis is a smart guy. If he meant continue to be young, he should have said that. Young again infers that the Leafs are old.
I'm not the GM but when an elite goalie comes on the market you try to get him. Should they break the bank, no. Better than a lot of you saying failure will fix all the Leafs woes.
Burke leaving a total non factor with Kessel moving forward.
If you are a player, and the guy that dealt for you and believed in you was canned. You think he wouldn't care? Certainly if I got a new boss, and I knew he balked at me getting my present position, I would the very least think about my options when my contract is up.

Gunner, but your point is well taken. The defense looks weak.Race to the bottom started yesterday with the Franson signing, this all but confirms our defence is worst than last years.
If Jones, Mackinnon, Drouin, or Nichushkin is the pot at the end of the rainbow. Mottau will be a welcome name on the Leafs forum next year.
Who is the second best defenceman on the roster? Komi or Liles. Ugh.
