Said goodbye to our 13.5 yr old Springer today. Cancer sucks, whether in people or pets. I will skip details, but his tail was wagging today when Lil Swami arrived to say her peace, that was tough. Still have the now 5 yr old.

Got a “I’m a moron question.”

I bought one of these today because my old one started to fail. I moved into my house with this already installed and all I’ve had to do is put distilled water into it every once and a while.

So when I got this one I filled it with distilled water and well it didn’t work…

I have come to find out that I was supposed to put battery acid in the first time.

I have since “emptied” the battery and am picking up battery acid tomorrow.

If I put battery acid in there now knowing that I already put water in there and there’s going to be at least some still in there, am I going to cause some type of calamity? Did I already ruin the battery and I’m just going to be wasting my time anyway?

Send help.

Eichinger's first attempt was the Roger Corman version that was never intended to be released. I swear this is somehow the best FF movie ever made.

@Amorgus might have tracked this down too? I'm not saying it's great by any means. But it is better than the Fox ones. It's corny, but it makes sense. They did the best they could with such a ridiculously low budget.

Made the same year Jurassic Park came out:

I finally got to see it in YouTube a few years ago. It's sad that it's still the best version. The first Fox movie had some great casting but Jessica Alba being whitewashed and Julian McMahon's Doctor Doom being a whiny bitch. I refused to watch the sequel despite being a huge fan of Doug Jones and happy he got to be the Sliver Surfer. I also refused to watch that last Josh Trank shitfest.

@Beef Invictus can you identify this picture without reverse searching?

Man f*** auto merge.

My life in bicycles…

First road bike, a Schwinn Varsity (I think everyone had one of these back in the ‘60s/‘70s, I think mine was brown)

For a high graduation present my parents bought me a Gitane Tour de France (mine was red)

In the mid-'80s I bought a Benotto Modolo 3000. This is George Mount, the first American to ride professionally in Europe (a few years before LeMond) riding the same bike (same color too)

In 2002, after being away from cycling for a number of years (and gaining the weight to prove it) I went for a Lemond Zurich like this one. My last steel frame. Still have this bike but it's stored away in the garage.

Just a year later i bought "Jaja", a Laurent Jalabert signature model Look Kg381i. In 2002 25% of the riders in the Tour de France were on this frame

In 2016 went for an aero carbon frame, Wilier Cento 1 Air - nicknamed "Darth Maul" for reasons which should be fairly obvious

Finally, since I'm at a "certain age", and carbon fiber frames last basically forever, and this may be the last road bike I buy, a brand new Pinarello Dogma ("Snoop Doggy Dogma"), electronic shifters, disc brakes, the works. Team Ineos rides this frame, Geraint Thomas won the Tour on an earlier model a few years ago.

Hey all,

Figured this would be the most appropriate place to post this.

Just wanted to thank the City of Philly for all the support this weekend during the marathon. Crowds were absolutely electric! First time visiting Philly and first time doing the marathon there. Love what I saw from the City!

I don't have a picture of the bike, but I broke my collarbone riding one to work 12 years ago. I had the gnarliest bruise on my chest. I wish I had taken a picture of that.
I had a little accident on the bike years ago, I broke my collarbone and my scapula and was knocked unconsious. When I came to I was on a stretcher being loaded into an ambulance. This was back in the ‘80s and helmets were just coming on the scene and I didn’t have one. But I got one after that.

I ran the Philly distance run Sept 2022 and it was AMAZING. Can't imagine how much more hype the Philly Marathon is. Great job man. Looking strong!

So did you...buy that? Just outright? I'm genuinely curious if they finance bikes like this or not

Yeah I bought it. I’m still paying off the credit card. But yes, they do offer financing on bikes like that.

Gotcha. Didn't mean to put you on the spot for a weird flex or anything, genuinely had no idea of the logistics of a purchase like that for something that isn't....traditionally that expensive? I find it hard to articulate.

Either way I would love to ride a bike like that once. It has to be wildly different than a "normal" one. In all the best ways.

Truth be told, you can get a very nice bike for half the price of that Pinarello. But like I said, that’s probably the last bike I’ll ever buy and the two things that I’ve tended to splurge on in my life are bicycles and guitars.
