I've transcended into being Manga only for a majority of things. I'm just disappointed with the quality of animation on most series now. Also don't get into manhwa(Korean webcomics) that's another rabbit hole you'll never escape from.(moving this here because I don't want to disrupt the NFL thread lol)
I specifically avoid doing that, even when it comes to shows I really like and do desperately want to read.
I don't want to know what happens if I'm going to watch the shows and I also don't want to be disappointed if the show varies from the manga in a way I don't like. I just want to enjoy the show as it's own thing. If anything, I'd read the manga after I finish the show, just to see differences and any additional information.
I read along as the manga was released in two shows I was really into a long time ago and I wish I hadn't.
