I heard the taste is out of this world

We ordered upgrades for our iPhones that were supposed to be delivered, one today and one on the 22nd....Today the driver came to the door and i have on the ring doorbell him flipping the box upside down to hide the fact that the box was already opened and he ran back to his truck after handing it to me...i noticed it was open and called back to him that it was open and he was really nervous and shaky like he got caught.

He then "texted" his "manager" who told me to refuse the package and gave me a fake number to call fedex...now im trying to get ahold of anyone at fedex but i cant get passed the automated prompts no matter what i do.

They are indicating that the package is still on the truck for delivery through the automated system. He never entered anything on his device after he took my initial signature.

Pretty sure i just got screwed out of the phone and am frustrated i cant get ahold of fedex

If the item is never marked as delivered, you are not screwed. You can file a missing item claim with FedEx. You can also file a complaint against the driver and explain all of his actions so they are investigated. Lastly, if FedEx denies your claim for some reason, you can speak with your bank and file a claim since the item was never received. They will side with you after they investigate. The tracking number and status of the shipment will be enough evidence.

I work for a bank and have sold over 500 items on eBay the past year, so I am familiar with issues like this from both angles.

As Rebels said, if it is never marked as delivered then you won't be screwed. Even if it was marked as delivered you're very likely not screwed also.

You could probably also go to your local FedEx hub and talk to someone in person. You have the tracking number so they should be able to figure out who was driving the truck and they can handle it.

It’s been a while since I had to do this, but it should still work. Choose the “Returning a Call” option.

Part of the problem I'm having is that the fedex automated system dead ends me. I called the carrier (Xfinity Mobile) and they initiated a case but I won't hear anything from them for 5-7 days.

Meanwhile, I have my own phone scheduled to ship on the 22nd, from the same place/method, tried to get them to change it to an instore pickup and they said not happening.

Whole situation is frustrating.

I love that if I ask The Child if she wants to help me, she's usually all for it. She likes learning things, she likes doing things. And I like to do more than have her hold some useless tool or a flashlight. Today she learned how to work spray paint, found all the studs needed for some shelves I'm gonna put in, and since she's learned how to use a drill already she's gonna be driving screws for them. I didn't learn any of this growing up and it's been a hard game of catchup, so I'll be damned if I don't give my kids the option to learn. I am determined to have her surpass me.

I'm too exhausted to be trusted with making logical decisions with a PC rebuild, but at the same time I really want to use paternity leave to do one so she can help and see what goes into a computer and be told what all the parts do. She has already helped put an SSD into my PS5.

That's awesome dude. I have no kids, and no regrets about that, but that is one aspect I know I would have loved.

My first job was working for my dad doing roofing. We still work together at times these days. He drives me nuts sometimes, but I will always be grateful that I learned (some) tradework from him.

And at the risk of sounding old, the idea of a kid these days being into power tools and not (just) screens, is a good thing IMO

Offspring learning and turning into a functioning human is definitely one of the enjoyable parts of having a child.

I feel you, Bif. We do the same thing with my kid.

Last night, I supervised my 4-year old drill a bunch of holes into wood with a battery powered drill (I held his hand while he used the drill). Then, I gave my 4 year old a tap and die set to create threads, just for something to do. He loves to use tools. I don't give him anything that's going to hurt him, no knifes or saws. He's been helping me use my drill since he was 2.

He bakes with my wife and we let him cook eggs with us as well (We don't let him cook by himself, we're always watching him when we cook. My wife's grandfather made him this wooden step stool where he can work with us in the kitchen.

Get them involved early.
