So is hypocrisy.

My big gripe with the whole "body shaming is wrong" community is they sort of ignore reality.

It's unhealthy to be fat/obese. While I don't think we need to slam people for it let's also not encourage anyone to stay that way.

I can't recall how I know about this guy : Angus Barbieri's fast - Wikipedia

but some people speculate that the only way to actually slim down permanently is to fast. You need to kick your body into ketosis and reduce your insulin levels.

I think there are a lot of insecure people out there so to make themselves feel better they take it on others that don’t look or act like them.

There's no way.
Obesity is running rampant in the US, and has been before the body positive movement.
People working out to lose weight or build muscle have been accused or dragged online for promoting body shaming. Not mocking anyone, simply working out on their own.
That’s the far end of the body positive movement.
The good end is telling people that you’re ok to be who you are. I’m sure that has helped a ton of peoples mental health, but it’s doing nothing but harm to the 5’1” 325lbs person that, I’m kinda rambling at this point so im gonna stop, trying to multi task and failing miserably at it n

Just watched a decent video on this topic:

Neat. I'm a very big believer in fasting (I did a 3 day fast once for the fun of it). I wanted to see if i could have the mental fortitude to pull it off, I did.

I struggle to lose weight (6'0 ~180 lbs) and I've never achieved a 4 pack or anywhere close to it.

I probably need to stay in the gym, drink more protein shakes, and eat only 1 to 2 meals a day.

There's no way.

Like Lord Defect said obesity is rampant in the US. Being obese carries a slew of health problems.

Telling people "i think you're beautiful because you're overweight" isn't a good thing. Work out, eat somewhat healthy, and be ok with whatever that outcome is. Anything other than that advice is pure trash.

Yep! Right on the Pacific Ocean. It's probably a once in a lifetime trip as my golf buddies are too cheap to ever spend that much on a golf vacation. I think I might do it...
Dude those course are absolutely top notch. Highly recommend. The coast is stunning. Assuming you are flying into Portland, take the extra time to take 101 (coastal route) down to Bandon rather than take 5 inland and cutting over. Or when you head back.

If you pull the trigger let me know. I road my bicycle the entire coast so got a more up close and personal feel for the spots. Plus we hit the coast all the time in the winter anyways.
Pull that trigger!

The point of body positivity is to discourage shaming people for their bodies. A person doesn't deserve less respect because of how they look, right?

Fetishizing fat is obviously not helpful. But how many people are doing that? Most fat people would probably agree that they'd be healthier if they lost weight.

Until it doesnt... walked out at 445 to take mom's dog to the vet to a massive wall of black smoke. A house went completely up about 200 yds from ours:eek3::eek3: paper ash was falling in my driveway. Haven't heard if everyone got out or not. There was a news chopper later. Prayers for the family.
