im big on home automation and tech in general, bought a "Switchbot Bot" off amazon for Prime Day, im returning it after playing with it for 10 minutes. The device itself is actually a cool idea, basically an automated button pusher, can push in a switch/turn on anything with a physical button, such as a coffee maker/keurig/etc.... but the alexa/google play/siri shortcuts portion of the device only works if you have the bridge.
On the other hand, i have been loading up on $17 door/window sensors from Yolink, for all the windows, doors, and even a freezer in the garage...announces on alexa/my phone when something is open, you can setup shortcuts/playlists/routines with alexa etc... put one in the mailbox so that when the mailbox opens i get an alert that the mail is here...They also have motion and vibration sensors, i have a vibration sensor in my car so i know if someone breaks into my car
