Keep them from getting the change, pin them in, wear them out. Don't give them a chance to tie up up on the faceoff with your prime PK guys on the ice...

Plenty of reasons to keep rolling for a bit.

I see both sides of it. You have possession and you suck on the powerplay. Why not hold it?

But then there's also all of that 4 on 3 time you're missing out on.

It really doesn't make any sense. An additional 30 seconds of 4-on-3 is invaluable

Maybe they could get Eric to take some method acting classes and he could play as a character whose team is 8 points out of a playoff spot with 40 games to go.

That whole minute forty was pretty craptasticular. Why not give them the puck? Then I don't get the Malhotra skate off which basically negates your PP advantage for 20 seconds with only 50 or so left. He has as much offensive skill as any Staal at the moment so just leave him out.

It's also harder to keep the puck in the zone on a 4-3, as you just saw happen. Open ice cuts both ways.

If you have momentum, you don't let go, simple as that. They got better chances with the 5-4 than they did on the 4-3.

Given their past history in shootouts, I think they should elect to.... [Tripp searches his mind for a shootout win] do whatever.

Tripp might actually be onto something with his little rant against the Good/Bad/Ugly theme.
