One of the big things about Anderson in his scouting reports was that he was a 'competitor' and the type of guy that was always up for the challenge. Scratching a guy like that after a down game, instead of challenging him, and giving him a chance to respond, with his play seems like a strange move.
We haven't really seen of those characteristics from Lias while he's been here though; did the scouts get wrong or make it a bigger thing than it should have been? Is he not comfortable in showing that kind of attitude at this stage?

Clearly Detroit just scouted and watched OTT bully the NYR right off the ice.

Insert..McIlrath

It's actually a very smart move but let's wait and see how Quinn adjusts err I mean bends over lol.

Taking out Lindgren is not a good start...

Even if Quinn wanted to get Staal back in there, he scratched the wrong rookie.
Neither of Lindgren/Hajek needed to be scratched. Skjei needed to sit for a game, and Hajek needed to be moved off the top pairing.

Hajek is being thrown to the sharks and can't handle it right now.

Didn’t he literally preach “meritocracy” a week ago? Then basically says “no one deserves to sit but I have to defer to getting Staal in”? Horrible communication.

It's something like Lindgren played well in one game, and the Rangers won that game

Next game he played meh..., and the Rangers were embarrassed , so...

I don't want to go down a rabbit hole but that is not the case.

McIlrath was a bad pick from day one because fundamentally he just wasn't a good player and was a huge project.

Lias has the talent and tools but he is getting yo-yo'd so much that I don't think we are putting him in a position to succeed. I feel like that the organization should shoulder a good bit of the blame if Lias doesn't succeed where as McIlrath it was mostly on him.

Yeah buts it's easy to get likes by dog piling hyperbole on the shitting post of the week.

If Henrik does well tonight, which I think he has done pretty well this season, does coach Quinn go back to him tomorrow given he has had over a week off?

Or do you think he goes back to his franchise goaltender Georgiev?

By the way, these are the records of the teams these two have faced.

Lundqvist: .906
Jets - 8-7-1
Oilers - 10-4-2
Capitals - 11-2-3
Canucks - 9-3-3
Sabres - 9-4-2
Bruins - 11-2-2

Combined Record: 58-22-13 (or 58-35) - Win % .623

Georgiev: .913
Senators - 4-9-1 (2x)
Devils - 4-5-4
Coyotes - 9-4-2
Lightning - 6-5-2
Predators - 9-4-2

Combined Record: 32-27-11 (or 32-38) - Win % .457

Tonight is the first night Henrik will start against a "weak" team. The quality of competition the two have been in net for is not remotely close. It is another reason why I do not understand Quinn's and the fans obsession with Georgiev in net.

Hey guys! How many goals do you think will be scored tonight? It always seems so unpredictable, but I don't really see the Wings scoring more than 2 on Lundqvist. I think you will win 4-2 or something like that. Good luck! :)
