Does anyone realistically think Trotz changes his gameplan at all, regardless who DQ decides to start in goal tonight?
Just a crazy guess but I'm gonna have to say.. No lol

I think we should do the above with "ex Rangers" with possibly a "twist" with such named player(s) with possibly a memorable moment.

Like, expect big games from.....
Lindy Ruff (haha)
Walt Tkaczuk and
Ulf Nilsson

This is too difficult lol. I just write down whoever from the other team comes to mind.

If Lemieux and Gauthier are playing, I'd like to see these guys go all out. With some guys getting healthy, one of those could be the odd man out. It's a local game too boys. You get both added volume and increased time value of exposure on IG & Twitter with a high activity game.

If Georgiev plays tonight and loses I'll be disappointed.

If Shesterkin plays tonight and loses I'll be disappointed.

The only way tonight works is if the Rangers win.

On Howden--penalty killer and the only Rangers center who is pretty much breaking even on face-offs.
If all he does is defense, and he is under 50% on draws and loses alot of 50/50 pucks (eye test), not to mention how much time he spends off of his feet, he is not good at hockey. We don't have an upgrade under contract now, but he should not be a keeper.

Agree. These two need to own the corners and make the Isles D work really hard to keep pucks.

SO hes great at stopping high danger shots but is well below average at stopping the others (which are thrown at any goalie in much larger volume than the HD stuff.)

Yeah, thats not a 1b.

And I'm going to call into question any model that has him in the 96th percentile in consistency.

And now that our D is pretty good, stopping the high danger shots is not as important.

So what's Quinn going to do if the NYR ever play the NYI in the playoffs either this year or next? Claim Georgiev is starting because of his record? My point is he'd start Igor then. He should start him tonight.

Not the same situation at all. Your starter plays 100% of the playoff games.

Georgy's record vs the Isles is a good excuse to put him in, but the reality is the backup was always going to play 15-20 games this season. Unless he continues to stink out loud, rather than return to his median performance (.912 or so) that won't change. In fact, I think .912 has been around the league average the past ten years or so.

If he stays sub .900 though, I imagine he'll start to get used less and less as the season progresses.

No Smith per Larry in his post article.

Still waiting for that game where LAF breaks out. Hopefully tonight.

Would also be really nice to see Kakko and LAf get more than 10 mins of ice time as well.

Bread, need more leg kick! Just don't kick a teammate please.

Both have gotten under 10 minutes of ice time in exactly 1 game each this year. Kakko was under by 5 seconds. Laf gets anywhere between 13-18 minutes a game, Kakko getting about 14-15 minutes. You already got your wish!

He just shuts down the opposition. No need to change. Just like Torts would just sit back and block shots when he had Cally & Co.
